I never questioned his talent, I just said that he was terrible yesterday.

You should probably blame Martinez for starting him then. You would have been far more likely to get the three points without him.

Not really mate, we dont have any other striking options.

He had a poor 2nd half, but so did the whole team, Martinez should have made changes earlier, we had a lot of players dead on their feet, with the greatest respect, most of your squad has been sitting at home playing Fifa all Summer while half of our squad was in Brazil.

Thats not to take anything away from the result you gained, good luck for the rest of the season.

Have to agree.

Don't think the quality in the players or how they play are up to standard to keep em up this year. Same with Burnley.

I'd love to know how you idiots come up with this sort of stuff.

You haven't even seen Burnley play, and you couldn't create a single chance against a newly promoted side when 2-1 up.

By watching the game yesterday, clearly you will struggle to stay up aswell then. Moronic post, extremely bitter.

I've got to be honest, it was yourselves who appeared one dimensional at times.

The fact we improved after tweaking our style at the break proves that we are not 'one dimensional' yet once we stopped the baines/pienaar domination, yourselves did not create another chance.
We should of lumped it up to Lukaku and hoped to get the luck of bounce. Should of taken a few notes from the Leicester blueprint of how to play.

What tweaking are you talking about. Time and again it was ballooned to the D in hope our wobbling CB's would make an error. We've established they were poor at the high ball, but what tweaking are you talking about.

The only tweak I can think of, came by our own mistake of going 3 at the back to see the game out.

it was odd from us, like people have said, it was a bit of a moyes performance in that all of our attacks were down the left flank and we seemed to get nervous and crap trying to hold out for the win. that's not what we got use to last season, martinez never shied away from making attacking subs in the dying minutes to kill of a game instead.

You came across as sound. Clearly you've gained a bit of confidence from somewhere. Idiots??

Ha ha ha Leicester must be back. Watch out lads.

Could you have brought mirallas and coleman on a bit earlier?

The problem with lukaku offering so little allowed us to just double up on baines in the second half. If mirallas was on sooner his direct running inside would surely have resulted in our midfield having to play deeper to protect the back 4.

lads come on, some of the posts on here are poor form. everyone's entitled to their opinion and if they think leicester will go down then fair enough, think they'll easily stay up and i won't make a judgement based purely on one game.

but to say they were over physical? pfft. they were no different to what we've been for the last decade, they were buzzing all over the place chasing every ball down and trying to win every ball - it's the kind of thing we love at goodison. it's why we adored straqualursi, it's why we love a big number 9 thumping home a header from a pin point cross taking the centre back and the keeper into the net with him.

like azz said, leave that type of moaning to teams like arsenal. it's a male contact sport at the end of the day, of course i don't like to see teams overdo it and go flying in to try and injure someone, but there was none of that from leicester - they gave us a good game.

mirallas was in the same boat as lukaku, not fit really. should have come on earlier, same with besic imo

Confidence? Why not??

I fail to see how it is acceptable for some of you to call us 'poor' and 'lacking quality', as well as use the 'we were missing barkley' and 'lukaku has only been back a week' excuse yet totally disregard the fact that we were also missing our 4 key players through injury.

The only sides in this league who can judge whether or not us/Burnley/QPR have enough after one games is the three clubs themselves given we know each other from last season. I don't think burnley or QPR will survive, but i'd like to know how you can justify Burnley going down without seeing them play.

It is just like the moronic predictions made by pundits before every season saying that all three sides will go down (see southampton, swansea, hull etc.) Just look at the Sun's marks for player performances yesterday, rio ferdinand gets a 7 for missing QPR's best chance in open play and for letting chester score a free header, morgan keeps lukaku in his back pocket for 90 mins, makes a block saving a goal and only gets a 6?

Defo, IMO Martinez made mistakes.

I would have took Stones and Pienaar off and stuck on Mirallas and Coleman as soon 60minutes hit, then on 70 minutes took Barry off and took Besic off his lead.

And im not saying this to be edgy, I really think you will struggle this season if you dont improve, those lads you have upfront are terrible, I mean you could say the same about Lukaku based on 1 game, but ive watched Nugent for years and hes not a premiership striker, Lukaku wasnt gonna get away with bullying those 2 grocks in the middle of your defence, but its gonna be a different prospect when you face "trickier" attackers.

Do you think the fitness issues have anything to do with your training methods as oppose to just the world cup?

Although we only had Mahrez at the world cup, he got better as the game went on and actually made the run which led to our equaliser.

I thought barry looked your most tired player around the 60 minute mark.

Yes, I do, even the players that didnt go the WC looked tired.

Not happy with the way Martinez has got the players ready so far or rather at the way he didnt.

Can't really say how well Leicester will do until they play the teams around them, the top 7 are so far ahead of the rest of the league.

For a bottom half team any result against the top 6 /7 is a good result any way it comes

It amazes me really how people seem to watch different games. I though Ulloa gave you real problems all match. From what i saw he won almost everything against Jagz and Distin.

But as i have said time and time again in this thread, and you have done the same again. You cannot use excuses for Lukaku and then completely ignore the fact that we were missing our 4 most creative attacking players (James, Drinkwater, Albrighton and Vardy), yet we still made an even game of it.

everton fans watch football league as well though. if they've heard of all their players and know they're not PL standard then they're ok to make that statement. it's just a prediction at the end of the day, everyone makes them at the start of the season, chill your beans.

they are a team coming up from the championship for a reason - because they were in the championship in the first place, not the prem.
