Notts County vs AFC Fylde
28th December 2027
Fylde found themselves on a poor run of form without a win since their home victory over Cambridge United and now it was a visit to Nottingham to play Notts County who were 21st in the table. Ryan East was given a start due to the quick succession of games and almosrt scored from a free-kick on 2 minutes resulting in a corner. Questions were being asked abotu Euan Henderson and whether he had been found out, his runs forward often get intercepted and the player quickly gets frustrated in games. Henderson picked up the ball on 37 minutes and set off on a run, this time breaking clear of the opposition, played it to O'Neill but his shot was comfortably saved by the keeper. The deadlock was eventually broken on 70 minutes and it was the home side who took the lead when Steven Nestor shrugged off Okoroji and volleyed into the back of the net. Notts County defended their lead brilliantly and deserved all three points on the day.

AFC Fylde vs Exeter City
1st January 2028
It was a big game to start the new year as the opponents at Mill Farm are the team to knock them off top spot, Exeter City and the atmosphere was very subdued in the build-up to kick off. Fylde were struggling for goals and did not seem confident in the tunnel. Bryan Johnson took the corner on 30 minutes towards O'Neill at the far post but the defender done enough for him to head into the side netting. Fylde looked positive in the first half, Ferguson and Johnson linking up well in the final third to create good attacking opportunities. O'Neill unable to finish. Exeter were defending well denying Fylde and it was Fylde who were on top so far. Bryan Johnson whipped in the corner on 53 minutes and the keeper was up to punch clear, Feeney picked it up inside the area and p;layed it back out to Johnson, he crossed again but it was cleared to McGavin who controlled it well and hit a nice volley into the bottom corner! The keeper unable to see through the crowd of bodies. Johnson was determined to get on the scoresheet and his left footed shot was tipped behind by the keeper. Fylde certainly have missed the winger. Fylde had a golden opportunity on 66 minutes, Ferguson was fouled but the ball ran free to O'Neill inside the area, the referee allowed play to go on, he knocked it to McGavin with a great chance but he put it straight at the keeper. Fylde held the lead and the match entered stoppage time. Johnson got the ball through to O'Neill whose shot was saved by the keeper. Fylde won a late free-kick and it looked to be all over. The Coasters back on top after beating a team currently in excellent form.
DF: We needed that today and that should inspire confidence to take us forward. We played really well and looked confident in possession. We had chances which we didn't take and I have to look at that and see why.
Sky Sports: Duncan, are you looking at bringing in any players in the January Transfer window?
DF: We are assessing our options and we hope the fans will be pleased with what could potentially happen.
