Former Everton Centre Forward Duncan Ferguson steps into management.....

FYLDE DENIED PERFECT START

The fans were in full voice and it was Danny Rowe who latched onto a long ball from Feeney to bang home just before half time sending The Coasters into raptures. It was a good performance by Fylde who controlled the game in midfield and launched some good counter attacking football. Danny Rowe hitting the post in the 80th minute was unfortunate not to double his tally. Second half substitute Luke Burke used his elbow inside the penalty box and clattered Hallam Hope. Nadesan puit the penalty away into the top left corner earning Carlisle a point which Fylde will feel is undeserved.

DF: It's not a bad start and we played well and should've been 2-0 up before the penalty. I think we were the better team today and a mistake by Burke cost us. It tells us it's not going to be an easy ride, we have to perform another 45 times. I'm not disappointed. It's a point on the board but I think it should've been three.

Draw with Carlisle, Ferguson out, he has no plan B constantly putting out the wrong formation and his substitutions during the game are crazy. Out now before its too late and Flyde are in a relegation battle.

I think he'll get the season come what may.

Sky Bet 2. With the big boys now. Come on you Coasters!

If they are going to give him the season then they have to back him in the January window at least 75K to spend, sick and tired of the chairman not backing the manager and pocketing transfer money.
But for that your talking full timers. I don't know about you but I couldn't sleep at night worrying if there were a few players on 500 to 1000 a week if we were back in the vanarama.

Then again, you've got to speculate to accumulate!

Will update with friendly results today. Hope you were at the Aberystwyth game mate.

We are in 2022/23 season and it's the Quatar World Cup in November. Premier league fixtures start on 23rd July with November and December off.

Out of interest, before the new season starts, does anybody want any updates on a particular player or club?
Only just seen this - what sort of condition are Everton in, and where is Bryan Oviedo?

Everton are not doing great. They finished 14th last season and are currently managed by Massimo Carrera who succeeded Frank De Boer. They haven't had much success in cup competitions reaching the quarter finals of the F.A. Cup last season.

Their last game was a 0-0 draw with Arsenal. The line-up was as follows:

Bryan Oviedo is still playing for Sunderland who are now in the Championship. His stats are as follows:

FYLDE START LIFE IN THE FOOTBALL LEAGUE

After opening the season with a 1-1 draw against Carlisle United. Fylde played their first away game at Newport County and were unlucky to be beaten. Ferguson's side adopted a defensive shape that saw them sitting behind the ball and aiming to launch a counter attack when won. It almost paid off mid-way through the second half when Danny Rowe had his shot saved by the keeper and put his rebound against the bar. Fylde thought they were heading for a point but Butler scored one from range late in the game to give Newport an undeserved home win.

Fylde found themselves one down inside twenty minutes and Gillingham looked good for their early lead. Fylde played quite cautiously throughout the first half and seemed happy to get into half-time at 1-0 down. As they reappeared for the second half they looked more vibrant and looked like the Fylde that dominated non league football. The passing was sharp and chances were being created. Tyrone O'Neill took the ball forward on the left flank, cut it on his right and broke into the area before burying a low drive into the corner. An equaliser and the confidence grew. Wright-Phillips closed down the Gillingham defence and won the ball, quickly getting his shot away as he lashed at it inside the area. A 2-1 lead but not over yet. Gillingham pressed but Fylde defended well late into the game and deservedly came away with all three points.

It was a quiet game against Yeovil in the League Cup First Round. The game had minimal clear cut chances and made it's way to a penalty shoot-out. The first penalty was taken by Hall for Yeovil who had his spot kick saved by Griffiths who stood up and stayed central. Danny Rowe scored for Fylde and gave them the edge. The shoot-out was at 4-4 with Fylde to take their last kick. Tom brewitt stepped up and slotted home into the bottom corner to give Fylde the win and put The Coasters into the Second Round.

An evenly matched game but Stevenage began to look leggy into the second half and it was a changed side from the team that beat Yeovil a few nights earlier. Danny Rowe kept his place and scored his 200th league goal for AFC Fylde with his left foot rifling a shot past Ogbebor-Onaiwu in goal for Stevenage. Another solid display from The Coasters saw them pick up their first away win of the season and the doubters are already thinking Fylde could be a surprise package this season.

DF: I don't think we should go getting carried away. We've said from the outset that survival is this season's aim. Anything on top of that is a bonus. We approach each game aware of how the opposition can hurt us and we are here to limit that damage. We've picked up a couple of wins so far which pleases us and we hope we can continue.

The last time Fylde played Aldershot was in the 2018/19 season and it finished 1-1. Since then Aldershot have played in League Two and looked good playing attacking football scoring in the 8th minute of the game. Ryan Reynolds committed a blatant foul inside his own box and was sent off for stopping a goal scoring opportunity. Collar scored the penalty and it was 2-0 to Aldershot without much reply from Fylde. Ferguson went three at the back and Fylde started to knock on the Aldershot door as they crossed balls into the area that were swiftly dealt with by the side who are top of the league. The ball was picked up Francis-Angol who approached from the center of the park evading any challenge, the goal opened up to him and he hit a blockbuster of a left footed strike into the top corner which could be a goal of the month contender. Fylde gained confidence from the goal a and with ten minutes to go thought they could nick it. The midfield battled hard to win the ball back with Jim Kellerman bringing into the final third looking to create havoc around the box. Aldershot weathered the late storm and avoided any near misses from Fylde. The referee blew up after 5 minutes stoppage time but Fylde can take heart from this performance and build on it.
