Never had bad word to say about Morgsy.FEENEY: COMING TO FYLDE WAS THE BEST DECISION OF MY LIFE
30 year old defender Morgan Feeney has just signed a new 2 year deal keeping him at Fylde until 2031. The defender has been at Fylde since 2020 and has been involved in four promotions with The Coasters. He recalls his time back in 2022 when Fylde went up to League Two but came straight back down. "We wasn't ready" claims Feeney. "We were a much older team back then and some players struggled at that level. Tyrone O'Neill signed from Middlesbrough but he was just a young lad like myself and we didn't have much playing experience. Then Ferguson left and we lost all our direction." When Ferguson came back we were struggling in the National League and he almost got us back into play-offs in the last few months of that season. He signed Mick Wisdom and Chima Okoroji in that summer and with Bellusci at the back we got 7th but missed out on promotion that season. "
Ferguson built a strong team around Feeney and Wisdom and Euan Henderson began to shine on the left wing. With a few more additions Fylde sailed to promotion to League Two and then went straight to League One then The Championship. Ferguson hasn't just built a team, he has built a family and has an eye of the kind of player he wants at Fylde. Feeney says the players are worked hard and that's what contributes to their success on the pitch. "To be playing Championship football next season with Fylde is a dream but it was never unthinkable. Ferguson believes in us all and everyone of us has a fantastic relationship. With the right additions we can compete next season."
