Standing in line
To see the Coasters tonight
And there's a fight on
Heavy blows
Bytheway I tried to say
I'd be there, waiting for
Hendo the lad
Is singing songs to me
Behind the Mill Lane, canteen stove

OMFGBirmingham City vs AFC Fylde
League Cup First Round
9th August 2028
A midweek visit to fellow League One side Birmingham City. Ferguson pointed out the danger in the Birmingham attack, most notably Zach Clough. Ferguson made changes to his team, Sam Allaway on the left and Barry Sargent up front. Ryan Scott and Mel Pope were the two midfielders and Garrett and Stockbidge played at full back. Fylde came out brilliantly pegging Birmingham back in the opening minutes, Garrett getting forward to cross into the box but Birmingham were defending well, Allaway played a nice ball back to Garrett who crossed for Bytheway and headed against the woodwork! Great start for The Coasters. Birmingham got the ball into the box, Alan O'Neill missed the tackle and Zach Clough buried it to give Birmingham an early lead. Birmingham held their lead but Fylde were playing some nice attacking football, Henderson came on in the 57th minute for Allaway to add more quality up front for Fylde. Sargent came close to equalising after he broke clear of the defence and the keeper parried his shot wide. Parry took the Birmingham corner with 13 minutes to go, Morgan Feeney cleared with the header but Clough tried a shot from the edge of the box and it whistled past the bodies to double their lead. This one looks over for Fylde. Henderson got on the end of Danny Smith's cross a minute later but his header was narrowly wide.

AFC Fylde vs Southend United
12th August 2028
Ferguson stated in his pre-match press conference that the league was his main priority and wants to give the fans a worthy display against Southend and he wasn't wrong when just after ten minutes McGavin played it to Ferguson who blasted from 25 yards out into the top corner! Fylde were in total control, Morton played it to Ferguson who lobbed the ball over the top for O'Neill to slot underneath the keeper from inside the box! Fylde go two up! Fylde were putting in a high quality performance and Bytheway put in a low cross to the back post for Henderson to volley in to make it three! What a first half for The Coasters! Fylde remained disciplined and kept it simple with a 3-0 lead. The team defended well as a unit. The second half was well seen out by Fylde and O'Neill had the best chance of the half when second half substitute Danny Smith crossed for him and he headed against the bar. It was a brilliant performance from The Coasters who remain unbeaten in League One!

AFC Fylde vs Bradford City
15th August 2028
Duncan Ferguson's side were off to a great start in League One and tonight's match was a sell-out at Mill Farm with The Coasters supporters enjoying their fantastic start. Euan Henderson got the fans up on their feet early on when he ran at the Bradford defence but his finish was just over the bar. The match settled down and Bradford came close on 38 minutes when Phil Stone got away from Nathan Smith to head inches wide. Mick Wisdom was denied by the keeper with a 20 yard free-kick 5 minutes into the second half winning his team a corner. Fylde were creating chances but not putting them away, the match entered the last 30 minutes and no change in sight for The Coasters. With 20 minutes to go, Okoroji played it to Henderson who brought the ball forward but held his arms up as he had no options, O'Neill came back to receive it, turned on his left foot and hit a swerving shot which beat the keeper! A goal out of nothing taking everyone by surprise! Tyrone O'Neill scoring goals for fun lately! Barry Sargent was about to come on but Ferguson changed his mind. Fylde went close in stoppage time with Feeney getting on the end of Morton's cross and hitting the bar. The Coasters fans show their delight as the referee blows the final whistle! Another win for Fylde, they are making it look easy in League One!
DF: We got the goal at the right time, I could see the frustration creeping in around the stadium and it was a massive relief, we played our own game well and the attacking football in the final third was great on the eye. Tyrone is playing his best football of his career and we hope he can continue his rich vein of form.

LEAGUE TABLE
View attachment 108866
AFC Fylde will take on Chesterfield this coming weekend and a win could see them go top of the League One table.
It’s happening
That a team with the stature of the Coasters has never won the league Cup should be a source of great embarrassment to the club.Apart from wanting to smash the rs u23's should we be resting players for the rest of the games or are we going for it this season?
I wasn't that fussed on getting knocked out of the league cup tbf at the 1st hurdle. I've got one eye on Champions League qualification and just 2 more promotions and approx 70 wins spread across the next 3 seasons should see us finish at least 4th in the Premier League.

Dear football league,C’mon Coasters, go toe to toe with the leaders and lose to Luton.
Should be docked points for having a shitty airport.
We go again. Trust the lads. Trust the coach.
