Former Everton Centre Forward Duncan Ferguson steps into management.....

HOPES OBLITERATED

Gateshead result.webp

With a strong first half performance behind them, nobody expected a complete collapse from Fylde. First half Fylde were in the faces of the Gateshead players, controlling the midfield, launching direct attacks but not able to put the ball away. It could have been different if they scored in the first half but as soon as Gateshead got the opener, that is when their heads dropped. Olley's goal should have been stopped and he should have been closed down, to be given that kind of space on the edge of the box was criminal and questions are being asked of Griffiths. Fylde almost equalised, Henderson hit the bar from a header, O'Neill then missed the follow up. Second goal resembled the first, Foster in acres of space got the shot away and Griffiths with a poor reaction sees it cross the line. Barthram scored from the cleared set piece but his shot took a wild deflection and went in the opposite corner. A harsh goal to concede but Fylde certainly destroyed. Things got worse when the referee gave a penalty against Tariq Lamptey who clearly won the ball in a good tackle, McGuiness powered the ball hard and low and sent Gateshead back to the North East with a massive win and a massive three points.

DF: Of course there's pressure, the pressure is building and if I was to come out and say the pressure wasn't getting to me then what kind of manager would that make me? There's no other way to look at it and we lost, I kept the same side that won against Bromley and I take responsibility for the defeat. There are three games left to save our season. It is not over yet. We can go to Northampton next weekend and cause an upset.

The headline says it all. Bent over and bummed all the way to Sutton

Hate to say it but...

Think you’ve had a shocker here. Keeping Bolton up with literally no money could have opened the door to a role pushing for the Premier League or maybe top-flight football abroad. You’ve voluntarily climbed three rungs down the ladder.

And going back to a place that gave you the sack after everything you had done for them.

nobody expected a complete collapse from Fylde

I beg to differ the 42 of us in the away end knew we were fooked before half time. Absolute shambles, can’t string two passes together and no pashun.

If it cost any more than £17.50 for a season ticket I’d jack it all in.

Tho it is worth it to see @maccavennie crap his pants several times a season, in fact we might as well get rid of the togger altogether, we’d all be much happier.

I'm still shocked Pampers have never tried to do an endorsement deal with me Jimi and lobbed a seasons worth of nappies in my direction.
