P.S. A Kid told me the other day , that , I'm BIGGER in the U.S. than Tinie Tempah !!!

I told Lynn to tell her daughter . The young'un weren't impressed , alas ,...
Haha no, you know when as soon as you've said something to one of your kids the look they give you makes you wish you hadn't opened your mouth?, that was the look.

Happy Thanksgiving to all xx

I don't really get thanksgiving. It just seems like another excuse for Americans to eat a lot of food. Just like when some of the English celebrate St. Patrick's day. It's an excuse to get pissed.

But happy thanksgiving anyway, in case some of you actually 'celebrate' this 'holiday' by doing more than eating.

I'm thankful for the return of the oracle.

As am I. Besides eating way too much and falling asleep in front of the tube (with a football game droning in the background) it's about being with family and friends and giving thanks for the things we take for granted on a daily basis. Huge travel day - people head home like Musselmen on Haj. The legend is that the Pilgrims were pulling together that first precious harvest and sharing with the locals to give thanks for the bounty we are given. We have a load of parades in the morning, and a load of football (ours) the rest of the day. Tomorrow, we all go shopping on Black Friday (I wouldn't be out there if you paid me) and the Christmas season is on like Donkey Kong.

These days, it's kind of a slide from Halloween to Thanksgiving to Christmas to New Years Day. Then you blink and face another new year - where did the last one go?

As for St. Patrick's Day - get to Savannah for one of those. They dye the river green, have even more parades (I've done several), and watch the party roll on under the great old Oaks. I always start that with a dish of good old fashioned Shrimp and Grits to help absorb that which will follow.

Happy Thanksgiving to all on board here, no matter where you are. We have much to give thanks for, not least the return of our lcab.

It's part of the American narrative. But it's also a good time to reflect on gratitude and the notion of focusing on the thing you're thankful for. Mostly it's just a chance to be with family.

So Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

Pilgrim's starving, Indians coming to their aid and all that. I will tell you what Thanksgiving is known for most nowadays though.....Black Friday. The day of ridiculous sales, the biggest shopping day in the world.

Me, I like to enjoy a great meal with the ones I love.

The story continues with Pilgrim steal most of their ancestral homes and indians become depopulated thanks to smallpox, typhoid et al. Indians revolt against said Pilgrims, Pilgrims kill all but a few hundred of the indians. Most of whom they put on slave ships to Bermuda.

They thanked God but not the Wampanoag's.
