The ones who organised the plane and banners were part of them incredible fans in the ground mate. Please don't confuse what they are trying to achieve with not supporting the team on the pitch.
Spot on post mate, there's seems to be a divide with regards to this but one thing we can all agree on is we want the team to win

Why do you think some fans have put their hard earned cash into having a flyby?do you think it's just a lack of transfer activity?
It's obviously a combination of things but our poor form last season coupled with our lack of spending so far this summer are certainly the main ones however you might want to dress it up.

It's a combination of years and many failures in the running of our club

Of course it's about money. If we'd spent £30m this summer then it wouldn't have happened.

the many many reasons for some kind of a protest are gone into in detail by posters on both sides of the debate in the board thread.

whatever your views on the state of the club and on the board in general, and I am no expert, I would be amazed if the vast majority of supporters would not at least understand and accept that some supporters have reason enough to have doubts and grievances going back many years. And it should then follow that it´s not so surprising protests of this kind happen.

Because they have a jumped up sense of their own importance and a refusal to think things through?

No interest in arguing with you, but I wish supporters would either join the discussion/debate if they have something to add or pipe down, because snide comments and being dismissive don´t help the conversation on the current state and the future of our club.

A conversation around whether a protest is necessary or not belongs in the Board thread.

A conversation about whether a banner and a plane is the best form of protest belongs here.

It's the deeper issues not the fact we haven't spent so far this window.
Commercial ineptitude, lack of investment, lack of a plan to progress Everton.
A million times yes to this post.

Buying players for the sake of spending money ruins clubs. I can't name one player that we have been linked with that could really change our position in the league. Only savy management e.i. new sponsorships, paying down the dept, and building a new stadium will make us an attractive property.

What is your opinion of feather boas?

Constricting the discussion there a bit.
Its a shame the gremlins on the box had the ammo to sneer at our club and our fans but theres nothing new there. I wonder how many other protest fly overs are planned and if its run like buy 5 fly overs get one free.

A conversation about whether a banner and a plane is the best form of protest belongs here.

Let's look at the options for protest:

A Plane banner above ground
B March to ground
C Leaflet drop
D Chanting Kenwright Out at the match
E Picketing Kenwright's West End shows/theatre office
F Boycotting matches

B and C have been done to limited effect.
E is very personal and is too far in my opinion
D & F impacts on the atmosphere at the game and could affect the team.

I'd say A is the best option for 'affecting the team the least', whilst at the same time making the point.

What do people want others to do? I mean, the people who want Kenwright out feel very strongly about it and aren't going away. Literally, because they love the club, want it to do far better and fulfill the potential it showed many times over the years, and are doing these things now precisely to stop a decline down the league, falling behind the likes of West Ham with their new stadiums.

The people objecting to this don't agree and think it's 'Kopite behaviour'. Okay, whatever, good for them. If they love Kenwright so much, they're more than welcome to take a banner to the ground praising him.

Yes it was seen by millions which means that's millions laughing at us. Why do we have to use the tired boring and predictable way of protesting why can't we do something different to them over there. For all the criticism no one has said what they think we should do granted idea one Will get u nicked and although I'd love to see uma in a blue and white jumpsuit stalking the corridors of power at goodison wielding a samurai sword it's not gonna happen but idea two could be on as I've just spotted a montego on auto trader in the heacham area of norfolk if anyone fancies picking it up when we play norwich granted its not the van den plas edition so it's not as heavy but it will still make a right two an eight of them doors
