Fletcher

For £3M or thereabout I'd be happy for his signature, but not thrilled. He will be a filler I think and will really have to fight to get into the starting lineup when we have a full squad to choose from. But almost any midfielder that we can throw into the first-11 and not weaken it, is needed at this point.. we are really weak in midfield right now.

I was expecting a better player ,but if we are penniless(Again)then for £3mill ok Ive already had emails from Mancs thanking us for taking him off their hands and placing him in to their favorite rest home:(

If we are able to bring in 2 of Moutinho, Mbia, Fernandes or Topal with Fletcher added to 2 of the previous four then I'm all for it, I remember when he came through at Man Utd and Scotland and everyone was raving about him, he also had some very good games last season.

i know we need players but fletcher !!!!! no no no !

if it was 10 years ago he would be a classic walter smith buy.
im sorry but the fella is a load of crap imo.

whoever said utd fans were up in arms with them selling him is way off the mark.(you may have read it on forums but ive heard it from the horses mouth) , trust me , man utd fans will be laughing there heads off at us buying him.

moyes obviously thinks he is buying a bargain and that with regular football he will be a better player.well i hope he is right becouse i think he wont improve and within 3 months will be the most dreaded name on the team sheet.

i hopefully am wrong but thats my opinion.

ps : if i had to bid for 1 of utd's second string id go for park ji sung.
i just love his work rate and attitude.
stick him on the left and arteta in the middle.

Park is a very underatted player, i think his contribution to Utd success is vastly under emphasised!

To be fiar to fletcher hes 24 and hasnt had a good run in first team football for most of his career. There is plety of potential and development, if davey wants him i wouldnt quibble but wouldnt be on my own personal A-List!

As i say i thought he was top drawer when i saw him against Arsenal in the Cup last year, but i have seen him have stinkers as well.

yep , im just guessing that the price and the chance of improvement due to lack of games is why moyes may be thinking of a punt.

ps.glad you like park too. i too think he is totally under rated aswell.

thats a good point Moyes has proved a few times he can pick up a bargain and improve players commitment.

just read this fletcher instead of moutinho

it's a bit like ordering a 3 course meal of the highest order and being served up a stale cheese sandwich.

edit : its laughable that we have gone from a world class player to a sunderland and birmingham target .lol

NOTW and The Sun, hardly the beacons of truth and honour.

Although i wouldnt be surprised if this was close to the mark :

Toffees boss David Moyes is targeting an experienced midfielder for his Goodison Park side and with his pursuit of number one target Moutinho appearing to have hit the rocks due to the EURO 2008 stars massive buy-out clause, Moyes will now target Fletcher.

Maybe we tried to get him on the cheap and we just cant match the money they want. The longer it goes on the more this looks likely.
