Linesman at the Villa vs Spurs game just been hit by a flare after Spurs scored. Luckily the fella is okay and able to carry on.

Getting closer and closer to there being a serious injury though. Sooner or later, someone will get hurt and then there'll be hell to pay (points docked? away fans banned?).

Given we're playing Villa away on Saturday, might be a good idea for the Everton lids to leave the flares at home for this one. Security will be well stepped-up at Villa now.

So you see no problem at all with someone being hit with a smoking can object, at distance and pace, on their back, when they had no idea it was coming?

Without sounding like Gok Wan, they also ruin your shoes and clothing if you get the blue stuff on you, if you have the misfortune to be near one when they land next to you in a crowded stand. It's also pretty crap if you suffer from asthma if one goes off near you too. Anfield derby, I'm looking at you....
