Fixture list

I predicted at the beginning of last season 8 losses and have to admit that one of those was Norwich away. Carrow road is difficult for us...important game. But last year we got 1 point from the canaries when we should have had 6. Have a sneaking suspicion we will get 4 this year. More predictions: we lose twice to Chelsea 2-1 and Lampard scores at least one goal.

OK, assuming 8 losses this season (realistic) we need to win 22 and draw 8. I think that 74 points is now the hurdle for CL. Doable?...hard yakka but not out of all realm of possibility. Those draws knackered us last year; what was it ...15 (ffs!).. Believe it or not, it is better to lose 9 games and win 6 than draw 15. This is maths that I am sure Roberto is well aware of.

...so now people, set up a spreadsheet and input the fixture list and determine where the 22 wins come from and where the 8 losses are. This allows you to follow performance vs forecast on a weekly basis. As I have already stated, two of those losses are Chelsea (our bogey team), prob ManUre at OT, City are an unknown since we seem to have the wood on them but with new management...? They have a very talented line up but lacked something under Mancini.
Anyway, cant wait for the season to start. Unfortunately Sky in NZ have lost the TV rights(!!) and some live streaming outfit is showing us the games...more money I have to cough up. Pisses me off. My order of sports priority (outside FIFA events)
1)The All Blacks (rugby test matches)
2)Everton FC (EPL)
3)Cricket
4) Domestic rugby
5) Champions League

...do you think Sky is going to reduce my subscription by 20%....not a chance...pissed off

Frigging typical.....not missed more than 3-4 home games in around 25 seasons, and I'm playing a footy match in Holland (against the team of a Dutch mate I converted to a Toffee several years ago and who now as a season ticket too) on 14 Sept....was hoping it would be Palace or the like away, but just my luck it's Chelsea at home! Here's hoping it gets switched to Monday Night Football!

All told, bar a month when we don't seem to have a home game (OK one in a month) I think it's a decent set of fixtures
.

Not the last time I'll see that this season. (sighs wearily...)

Slight detour if I may, sorry but... 25 days or 3.5 weeks if you prefer, till our first friendly against Austria Vienna, and from then on soooo much Everton to keep us going.
3 days after Vienna, a (morale booster?) game against Acrington Stanley
10 days on and Blackburn.. this is possbily our biggest wait between games.
4 days later we almost amusingly play Juventus
3 days later the definately amusing Real Madrid or LA Galaxy
Then our last game of the tournament, date TBC (but shortly after) because
Two weeks after the RM/LA Galaxy game its the start of the season.

Quite simply that pre season is EPIC, never really been excited by a pre season before.

Annoyingly though every one of them is away, the only downside I can see is that with all these games so close, our players are going to be too knackered to physically lift the cup when we win this tournament?
