This is part for your information and also to discuss how it could affect our season, we already have Crystal Palace to be rescheduled and due to our FA Cup Quarter against Arsenal the Away game at Newcastle also needs a new date. Also we are meant to play Arsenal at Goodison on 5th April with is FA Cup semi-final weekend which means as one of ourselves or Arsenal will be in the semi-final that game too will be postponed. Add to that the potential of a replay being needed to settle the quarter-final their could some busy times ahead.

Thoughts..

I'd like to imagine that soon the squad will be fully fit and hit some similar form to that of around the Man U win, so having a lot of games in a short period could be a good thing if we hit some momentum, starting with at least a draw tomorrow.

Of course Im being very positive with that thinking of course.

April 12th/13th is FA Cup semi final weekend. The Arsenal home league game on April 5th will go ahead regardless, unless it is switched for tv.

We are scheduled to play Sunderland away on April 12th, which will have to be rearranged if Sunderland win their home quarter final vs Brighton or Hull.

You were right but the everton website (where i got my info) read like this

  • Sat 5th 15:00
  • H
  • arsenal.png
  • Arsenal
  • barclayspremierleague.gif
  • TBC
  • N
  • fa.png
  • FA Cup SF
  • Sat 12th 15:00
  • A
  • Sunderland

The way i read it it just says the date for the semi is to be confirmed ?
I read it as though the semi was scheduled for the 5th but as things stand the league game is set to take place, if it had of been under the sunderland game/12th then i would of thought it was for that weekend, all the other fixtures have the dates first and then the opponents so when the semi was listed under the 5th that's what led me to believe that it was scheduled for the weekend of the 5th

The arsenal league game for the record will be on the sunday, [with it been grand national day the sat],though it would have probably have been moved to the sunday for tv anyway.

This is why we do not want a winter break in this country.

That would create a bigger backlog even before any postponements.

They'd just schedule more midweek games earlier in the season when there's a gap though wouldn't they so by the time we get to this stage we'd be on the same amount of games.

Baffles me why more midweek games aren't played earlier in the season. We had two after X-mas when the players are shattered and it's the worse time to travel for the fans.

Also if teams are out the cup then let them have a break instead of having to re-schedule games that people may have already planned for. You could do this by playing more earlier one/

The backlog this season is more so due to the world cup, usually they would move the league fixtures back a week because of the cuop but this year there has been a full programme after the cup rounds so they national squads have more time to prepare for WC

Also there is an international week the tues before the cup game against arsenal whether that is an advantage or disadvantage is unclear

Yes, but what happens when we get a really bad spell of weather after the break? What little room for manoeuvre there is, is gone.

Wouldn't there be a bigger pile up. Then there's replays as well.
