They were the most disgusting thing I've ever held, and bit me when I tried to stick a hook through their head (can't think why).

on a boat or off rocks ? or sea wall/ harbour ?

you want wire traces as the stuff in there can bite, big gang hooks, full pilchards for bait.

or just get a spear gun and go "on seafari", big octopi and squid in the clear waters of greece, tuna too and red snapper. seafood, i feckin love it, you should be making traps and setting them on the seabed, you'll have a never ending supply of crab, lobster etc.

i handled a rod on paradise beach also, my bait was virtually swallowed whole, i got loads tbh and after pulling out a big one i was christened "the catch of the day".
