First McFadden bid rejected

I think the thing about it is, that hes making sounds about wanting to leave this will be decisive, but i think wed be better if he went to a PL team as they have more money then either celtic or rangers definitely should be in the 5-6mill category!

You are an interesting person, first you rate highly of Gravesen saying he would help us in strength and depth of the squad, yet he was the worst midfielder we have in the first team squad at the moment, his performance is way below par!

Yet, on average Macfadden has been doing better than Gravesen, in matter of fact he would be a better CM than Gravesen is to us at the moment!

Just think the season before, Emil Heskey 5.5mill, the last summer there was Chopra, Smith, Koumas - all average players at best and the cheapest on was about 6 million. Mcfadden is better than the lot of them and should as such, command a larger price.

James Beattie 4mill! And lets face it you can play 5 midfeilders during a game and only two stirkers on a good day! Now im no matamatician but.........!

Haha, there is a difference between them BT don't play International football but McFadden does and has a great scoring record!

I want everyone to remember one thing.

We don't have to sell James McFadden.

When you have to sell, you're not going to get top dollar for your player cause everyone knows it. Likewise, when you have to buy, and everyone knows it, you're going to pay the high end of the market (not unlike Chelsea).

Since we don't have to sell and are content with keeping him, we can dictate how much we want to sell him for (i.e. the appropriate price range).

The other clubs surely know this so there is always the chance of a bidding war for him.

You say, "Yeah, but he's really done nothing for us."

Well he has in spurts and his Scotland record is unquestionable. So I guarantee that someone out there is thinking, "if we could get him into our setup and our system, he'd score for fun," and will launch the appropriate bid.

May not be in January or it may not ever happen, but believe me, if it does, Everton will not sell James McFadden for anything less that 6M. And if his performances for Scotland continue like they have, then that price is just going to go higher and higher.

Economics 101, the law of supply and demand.

Thanks for taking the time to write this up, didn't have time to write something up like this, it is exactly how I feel about this?

When we have no need to sell a good player we have got and he has a good record for his national team and does a job for us when needed, then if other team want to buy him then they have to paid the price we are looking for, not what they could afford or on the cheap!

Watched Birmingham vs. Boro yesterday and I don't think Birmingham really need him as Jerome and Forssel cause Boro defenders all sorts of problems.

Now Boro on the other hand...

Call that a bid, is just a loan deal if they are serious then show us the money we might like to try and buy ourselve but we don't like doing it when it comes to our player, beside we needed him around with so many matches coming up he plays a different game to our other striker so it always useful player to have around!

It's funny you should say that because Celtic tried to loan McFadden from us (Motherwell) about 6months before you guys bought him. Cheap Skates;)

I like Faddy, but for 5 million or so, i think it would be the best deal for everyone.

Especially for James himself, he knows he's 4th or maybe 5th in the pecking order at Everton.

He's a very good player with alot of talent, but he needs to use that talent more consistently and not be as frustrating.

Every blue agree's that he is a good player but he just needs to use his talent in more ways and use it in every game, not just every 5 or 10 he plays.

I hope he doesnt leave but i would like him to fufill his talent elsewhere.

i think we are keeping him because of the ACN. all it takes is for aj to pick up an injury and we would be relying on the kids vaughan and anichebe. this season is massive.. we really can't shoot ourselves in the foot selling players we might need.
