Coleman can be better than Stevens, already better on the ball and working on his tactical awareness. Baines is so much better than Van Den Hauwe though that any right back who could stand up would make current pair better. Lucky man Van Den Hauwe, just had to stand behind the best midfielder in the country, look scary and hope no-one noticed he couldn't tackle

I've posted it before on here that Joe Royle said that Kendall, Harvey and himself all felt that Pat VDH was better than Baines as a full back, and they all felt that Pat was the best left back Everton have ever had. That was a year ago, I doubt too much has changed since then.

Gary Stevens was the England right back with over 40 caps, Coleman doesn't even come close. Not yet anyway.
