26! He looks well old. Did he get his passport from the same place as Yaks?

Bizarrely just read this on wikipedia:

n July 2005, he was transferred from Juventus to Fenerbahçe, the defending Turkish champions, for €8 million. He won the Turkish Super League Championship with Fenerbahçe in their centenary year. At the end of the 2006/7 season, Appiah expressed a desire to move on from Fenerbaçe SK although the club wished to extend his current contract.During the January transfer window in 2008 Stephen was linked with a move to Premiership outfit Everton and looks certain to consider this.

Either, Ross has made a complete [Poor language removed] up of the whole situation, which is not unlikely. Or he has been the subject of a con, either way its his fault. :)

My arms are far from open - and as i said before he will have it all to prove when/if he slinks back to gooodison.

But, i'm not completely opposed to the idea based on the following rationale
1. We are well short of midfielders
2. Fernandes is a midfielder, and potentially a good one.
3. Moyes seems to have his head screwed on regrding transfers lately.

Seems to be general confusion about what fernandes would bring to the team though - my understanding is that he is a defensive midfielder (albeit one who can play a lot).

If he's the man for the carsley role in the future then he's a long way from being what we need. Whilst we still have carsley, perhaps there is room for manny and his 10 minutes of showboating, 80 minute disappearing acts

MARCA and AS today. Both say that the loan deal has been negotiated. Manny however can't leave Spain until the judges decides whether charges are to be brought over the nightclub incident. Regarding the incident, what basically seems to have happened is that Manny went out with Miguel (another Portuguese player at Velencia) plus some other team mates and Miguel's brother. They went to a Club where Miguel is well-known. Miguel's brother didn't go in at the same time as the others because he was speaking to some mates outside. When he (Miguel's brother) tried to go in, the blokes on the door didn't know him, as he wasn't with the players and wanted to charge him the entrance fee. He started arguing, and unfortunately 2 off-duty police officers got involved. Spanish police are absolute scum at the best of times, so imagine what they're like off duty, out on the town. Manny went to look for Miguel's brother basically because he realised he hadn't gone in with the rest of them. The off-duty coppers have rung their ON-duty mates and Manny's been arrested. He spent a night in the cells, and now the judge wants to see if the coppers have any real injuries to press charges. The off-duty officers have clearly been looking for a ruck with local footballers and want their on-duty mates to back them up. The judge will almost certainly throw the case out.

Until then, Manny can't travel outside Spain. According to the Spanish Press, the deal is done, and Koeman has made it clear Manny is not in his plans. AS also reckons we're interested in Angulo, one of the others, along with Abelda and Canizares, that Koeman wants rid of. Angulo's a good wide player, Internatonal who scores goals, not fast ,so doesn't really offer more than Pienaar and Ossie. As for Manny, he clearly has no future at Valencia, we should give him another chance. He's just a kid who's been badly advised, Moyes will be the making of him. A loan signing represents no risk whatsoever, and we desperately need cover in midfield. As long as it doen't involve Arteta going there, we should be looking at all 3, Manny, Abelda and Angulo, they have to leave Valencia if they want to be considered for the Eurocopa.

Someones view on Kipper.

The Guardia are Francos monkeys mate. Theres no chat about civil rights or anything with them.

I concur.

friend of family beaten up by guardia civil, in broad daylight cos he cut him up in traffic. He then maced him. talking about a man in his early 60s.

cowardly **** then got him arrested and he got charged for assault, even though the policeman wasn't touched and he kicked the [Poor language removed] out of him.

racist xenophobic excuses for humanity.

Too true Leon, I buzz off them when England are playing in a tournament in tourist resorts. Theyre itching for it, almost instigating it.

Still, it works. You dont give them [Poor language removed].
