I would walk to Valencia in 6inch stillettos to get him back. I loved him then and I love him now. I will forgve him anything.

Seriously though, no one other than a few in a tight group of people know what happened that night in August so until I know differently I will believe that Manny was not master of his own destiny and had little choice but to go to Valencia.
Conspiracy theory 1 - Can anyone remember the photos of him the day he signed for Valencia, he had a face like a smacked bum. Don't think he was happy.

Conspiracy theory 2 - anyone see in Saturday's programme the photo of Manny and the quote from his smalltalk? Eh?

Now if you ask me, (hopeful hopeful hopeful) - if Manny had pissed the club off THAT much, they wouldnt have put his picture in the programme would they?

Please please please. I want him back too.

Alas, I fear that my heart will remain broken.........sobs theatrically and throws herself on the sofa...........

That makes two of us.

Now if we could get Monty to do the same...

A few nice turns and fancy tricks aren't enough to cover up the fact that he went missing and was ineffective for large parts of games. imo anyway. Yes he has skill, but he can go do one as far as I'm concerned. He screwed us over, and we've moved on.

Spot on mate, he went missing when the chips were down.

Pienaar is supremely acer.

Just wanted to say that I have heard that Fernandes never signed for Everton because the people who owned him told him that he was going to Valencia, because they offered more money upfront.

So with that in mind, would he be welcome back at Everton?

Very much depends Ghost. We dont know the full story.

If he snubbed us - which I really do think he did then not a chance. He's not THAT good, he has his weaknesses - a big one that he can tend to go missing to easily.

Also the fee, definitely no more than 6m.

He needs us more than we need him.

Well not to start 2008 on the wrong foot, but I don't fully agree with that.

I think we need someone in the middle who can dominate players, pass the ball, shoot from distance and genuinely add some class.

We saw very little of Fernandes and I would like to see more of him. Moyes obviously rated him and felt he was worth the money, so who are we to go against his better judgement.

Maybe we'll never know the full story. But a guy on City just said he would have him back like a shot. I tend to agree.

I would want him back here, no doubt about that.

But if he did snub Everton in favour of Valencia - do you really think Moyes would take him back?

Theres other players out their Ghost - especially for the fee he would command.

Diarra, Albelda, Appiah just a few.

Yeah I know. But the two moments of magic we saw from Fernandes does make you want more. :)

Appiah would be welcome too.

Actually that kid from Barnsley would be ideal, just Moyes's type of player.
