He's in Merseyside according to the mail. :D

This is happening!!!

Absolutely ecstatic - we have one of the best midfields in the Premier League, if not THE best overall when you look at the balance.

Brilliant news at the end of a brilliant day - looking forward to tomorrow morning to see this wrapped up!

If this is genuine, then it's getting closer to being officially official:

"Everton official Ian Ross has told Portuguese website Maisfutebol that he expects Manuel Fernandes to be an Everton player within the next 24 hours.

The Blues are believed to have had a £9m bid accepted for Benfica's share in the player.

Ross said: "I think that everything will be decided in next the 24 hours, We have everything worked out with Benfica and now the decision is in the hands of the player.

"We just need to wait for him to confirm the agreement, but I think that only a great overturn would prevent the transfer happening.

"He is expected to sign a five-year contract, as is the norm with young players joining the club."

The original article is in Portuguese - I've posted it at a Benfica forum so the tranlation can be checked, but there doesn't seem to be anybody home (I think they're sulking; it seems they're not at all happy about losing Manny :P ;) )

I'm almost jumping out of my skin... not a nice sight!

Come on Fernandes! Sign so I can spare the world that horrible sight! ;)

With the dust settling on the Carlos Tevez affair the Premier League has another third-party ownership deal to unravel as Everton attempt to secure Manuel Fernandes from Benfica. The Portuguese club own 50% of his economic rights, with the other half owned by agents thought to include Pini Zahavi. Everton have sought Premier League advice on how to seal the deal and will pay Benfica €9m (£6.1m) for 50% of the economic rights. This will be sufficient to secure his registration as long as the Premier League is satisfied the agents are prevented from exerting undue influence over the club in relation to Fernandes.

Interesting bit from the Guardian. It's like we can get him for just 6mil

Keeping my fingers crossed and then for Yakubu, I hope.(y) Or cut price Crouch anyone reckon the RS may be looking to offload!!!!!!!!!!!!:(

Seems that way Bill, but Im sure he will come.

Is A2bchris on holiday as he has gone missing (is he with Micknick), other sites say that manny is staying at the Radison, if any one would know it would the cabbies(y)

The top [Poor language removed] at the FA/premiership are the only things that are stopping this going through!!

The Premier League being [Poor language removed] with Everton as usual. No suprise that Scudamore, the Chief Exec, sat next to that prize [Poor language removed] Sinawatra last night, yes you know the one who robbed £1 billion off his own country. Great vote of confidence for the prem for that prick Scudamore to be rubbing shoulders with Shinawtra and Jorbiabichen or whatever he's called, while Everton are denied the right to sign an excellent player on a perfectly sound deal.
