Seems like quite a few outlets are suggesting the same. Benfica need the money so probably hold out for full value. I always thought this would be a tough one to pull off but I was hopeful for a year loan.

If these Fernandes stories are correct, our midfield looks a bit thin to say the least.

I'm really beginning to wonder what our plan is for next season as I thought we'd have sorted Fernandes, even on loan, and expected Jags to have signed (without swapping players) by now along with Nugent.

I'm sure Moyes has a plan and is playing his cards close to his chest, but got to admit, I'm starting to worry that we think we can do ok with our current squad.

Then you have to think about other players ie. Arteta, and whether we are meeting his ambitions as a club.

Early days yet, but I'm getting impatient!!

Manny is apparently owned by Barca and some agent so in effect there are 2 transfer fees to be paid to sign him up and after the Tevez fiasco I do not think any club wishes to get mixed up in a similar mess.

If it was just Barca involved then I bet the fee would be lower, bloody agents.

Face it, 12M was always gonna be too much for Manny. Hell, 8M would have been pushing it.

And as someone so rightly asked earlier, why the hell would Benfica look to sell someone of that quality?

I'm not too bothered by the whole deal. Moyes I'm sure is working on other targets than just Manny.
