This is because no one tracks the data.
The police forces do not have to report any statistics on discharge or their weapons, or number of people killed. No one has any idea how many people were shot by police over the course of the past year, or indeed any year. Anecdotal evidence is the only evidence that exists. Coupled with the very clear data that minorities are more likely to be arrested and imprisoned for the same crime as a white person, the anecdotal evidence seems to be more well supported than the opposing viewpoint.
There is a fundamental breakdown in law enforcement in America. Both in relation to oversight and it's interaction with minorities.
Because the data does not exist. The police do not have to report it. Thus the only place the data exists is in new reports. There are people beginning studies to collect this data now, but it will be incomplete because it depends on the news covering it.but there are powerful enough ethnic minority bodies to produce and finance these studies; if they don't exist, why don't they produce one themselves?
interaction with minorities? communities who refuse to cooperate with the police regardless of any initiatives? A community represented at the very, very peak of modern politics?
It's absolute tosh. This case is not To Kill a Mockingbird for 2014 - it's a community who couldn't respect the judgements of a court of law having been frenzied by dreadful sensationalised media coverage, and responded by going on a rampage.

Communities refuse to cooperate with the police? The police that actively target those communities with policies like Stop and Frisk? This is once again attacking the symptom of the problem. The problem is economic disparity and social disparity which has led to disenfranchised minority communities.
Ok mate.Absolute keyword blabble that last paragraph. Whole communities such as Chinese migrants have "enfranchised" themselves - it's absolute garbage to claim, particularly in America, that these 'communities" have been abandoned and enslaved by their "disparities". It is complete and utter rubbish. Have opportunities not been seized or squandered? Certainly, on a massive scale. Upwardly mobile individuals from these communities are mocked and made to be pariahs - fantastic.
why are these communities more likely to be stopped and frisked? it's not because America's law enforcement community are a walking UKIP Purple Aki fan club, b Now, do we not circulate these stats because the "community" doesn't like them?
This is proven untrue. Whites are more likely to smoke marijuana than blacks. Yet blacks make up most of the arrests. But because they are statistically more likely to discover illegality.
Ok mate.
Let's ignore the differences between social groups, ignore years of systemic racism and prejudice and pretend that it's entirely the fault of the people at the receiving end of it. That means we don't have to do anything about it, right?

Why do you think that is?
A community must trust in its government to be expected not to ignore the outcome of an appointed court of law. Years of distrust have arisen due to escalation on both sides of the equation. This is what needs to change. Rather than take every incident as a singular case, we need to take them in a pattern. Don't lose track of the forest through the trees, as it were. As such, we need to find out why this particular minority group has so little faith in the system.Complete and utter misrepresentation of what I have said.
If communities are going to ignore the outcomes of an appointed court of law, and turn to lawlessness, we should turn a blind eye because hey, they are poor and disenfranchised and don't have access to free school education to move themselves onwards... Oh no hang on wait, they do, and other much smaller communities have managed. Oh look, the most powerful political figure in the country is from an ethnic minority. Oh and hang on, the most culturally influential woman in the country is from an ethnic minority. And arguably the most culturally influential sports stars are from an ethnic minority.... And so on and so forth.
Systemic racism and prejudice? Does this not exist amongst ethnic minority groups too? Or do we call this a happy sanitised version of "slightly miffed but justifiably so after years of being disenfranchised". The community in Ferguson could have organised a peaceful protest, appealed, lobbied, put forward better evidence - and yet key community figures decided that rampage and destruction was the correct response.
Wonderful link and I completely agree with what is being said.I highly recommend a review of the link below:

Possession arrests. Not distribution. The blacks sell it ? ........
How many race riots have taken place by Chinese in America because a Policeman has shot a Chinese man ?...I'm assuming at least one Chinese man has been shot, or do the White policemen only hate black people........
