4) Do I think Darren Wilson got up that morning itching to kill some black kid? No, of course not. But I will tell you this. In this country, every single person, black or white, is taught/conditioned to believe that young, black men are dangerous. If you worked a job like Darren Wilson, where you were conditioned to believe that young black men weren't human, they were potential threats to your life, you'd have a warped sense of reality. And that goes for cops everywhere. I've known plenty of cops in my life. This idea that they're all fair minded civic heroes is laughable. I don't know Darren Wilson, and to be honest I feel sorry for him. I think he lost his mind momentarily and now a kid is dead, and his life is potentially ruined. The defense of Darren Wilson has already started, but to me he's toast. He's going to jail. And I don't want to think about what will happen to him there.

5) The fact that Michael Brown was involved in a robbery (not armed) that morning is irrelevant. The punishment for suspected theft of cigars is not execution in the streets. If it is now, I'm getting the fuk out of here.

If the facts bear out that Michael Brown did what he did (charged an officer with intent to do harm after being told to freeze) then Officer Wilson isn't going to jail. He has every right to defend himself.

Furthermore, how are Michael Brown's actions in the robbery not relevant? For me, they're completely relevant. I'm quite confident that I can say that Michael Brown was not shot because he stole cigars. He was shot because he made an incredibly poor decision (assaulting a peace officer) and paid for it with his life.

I love how you guys come on here and just group all cops in America as bad people who shoot and kill individuals constantly. There are incidents, yes, and some are due to a dirty cop or one who made a bad decision. America isn't some place where people get gunned down each day by police for no reason. We don't search for articles that paint England as some horrible country.

I don't think you'd go very far searching for articles on the Met Police gunning handcuffed people down, or even shooting anyone who "assaults" them. Sometimes I do wish they did exactly that with the knife-wielding gangsters in London who stab people to death in broad daylight because they know the Met Police wouldn't as much as spit at them. Police here in the UK are too cowardly for me and in the US they're too bloodthirsty.

The disadvantaged kids currently rioting have issues. They need to be properly understood before you start castigating them as lifelong criminals. The interweb tells me the inner-city education rates for non-whites in the subject state are horrific. By comparison Bobby Joe and Belinda probably had a half-decent educational start in life but persist in eating themselves into oblivion whilst spouting misguided claims and protestations from a book written two thousand years ago.

Let me save you the trouble. You can't. So when he says that the "blacks" are rioting in Ferguson MO., he's making a factual assertion. One that many on here either don't want to see or worse, willfully refuse to see it.

A label has to exist when speaking of the subject matter of race, but it has to be a mutually agreed one. We can talk of blacks and whites in the context of Ferguson, as you simply have to, and King had to use a label in that context too.

But do you know in an ordinary situation if I were trying to define a black person to a friend, you know what I'd call him? John. Or Afro-Carribean. Or British. Or that lad over there. Using the skin colour as an adjective to solely define someone disregards all other identifiers and characteristics of that person.

People only want to use context when it serves/suits their purposes. Our media is notorious for doing this.

Because social context and human history dictates that it's bound to be a difference, and that won't change. We're actually NOT the same - black culture and white culture over generations is markedly different - the only way that changes is if we share the same culture for an extended period of time to the point where similarities vastly out-proportion difference.

It's the same reason for clashes between the Middle East and the West, for China and Japan etc. etc. Globalisation hasn't occurred to the point where shared experience outweights cultural difference and, to be honest, that's a good thing, as diversity is the spice of life.

Blacks and whites will never be equal, and striving for that is a fallacy. What we should be striving for is not to become the same, but to open up identical opportunity in life for both.
