There is absolutely no guarantee that Fellini is leaving. Just the usual paper talk, and not a lot of that. Every decent player at any club below the top four(and even the top four) is mentioned by the rags...its sells papers, something they find increasingly hard to do.

Gibson isn't as good as McCarthy at keeping fit, for starters, or at being younger, or at being mobile.

Gibsons a better passer, more important to our team, better at shooting, crossing, pretty much all technical side of things he´s better at.

He controls the midfield more, if you seriously think McCarthy is even close to Gibson in terms of ability, you are unfortunately very very wrong.

Maybe not, but Barkley is. So's De Guzman, Diame, Fer and a whole host of other options that WON'T cost the £10m+ price tag attached to McCarthy. He's young and English and therefore there is a premium attached to his sale price.

Put another way, Honda is likely to go for less than McCarthy: that's insane.

As for the mobility knock against Gibbo, have another look at the last couple games this season, particularly West Ham at Goodison, where Felli was played in CM instead of 10. Gibbo had much more freedom to roam with Felli close by and took the opportunity. He can't do it with Osman alongside him because Osman has no defensive presence. Stick Fer or Diame in CM and you'd see a mobile Gibbo.

Indeed he would be. But he has six months to go on his contract and there's likely to be a dozen big clubs in Germany, Italy Spain and England after him, plus possibly PSG and Monaco. It's likely therefore that a fee will be involved. If it turns into a bidding war then we probably don't want to participate.

Of course but we wont be the only one who will see this as an attractive offer, but we have to remember he wont be a free, and I recken he will wait till his contract runs down and then make around 4 million due to a signing on fee.

Sorry about this but I actually want Felli to stay - I am sick of the media selling our players for us and until we shake off this "plucky old Everton " tag we will never get anywhere - I for one will consider lower than 5th a failure..can't believe that some of us will accept a mid table position or 8th 7th 6th as acceptable Nil Satis Nisi Optimum ??? no wonder the club took it off the crest - Joke !!

but any player performing well will want to play champions league football. what would you think of a player who said he didn't want that or say he didn't want international football. I still haven't seen any link to evidence of this clause beyond media speculation. I would think every renewal of a contract will have clauses in to display the clubs ambition. on top of this every player is prob in a position to push for a transfer if a really big club comes in for him. this goes round in circles and anyone from any club could come on here or contact the media and claim he has heard something. I don't doubt some people want him sold and want to use the money. its their opinion but at the moment I don't see evidence its being forced on us. 24 million isn't my money or any of yours. if they want to put it in the bank they will.
