Fellaini

Pienaar and Mirallas are smart enough footballers to interchange as they see fit. Each can do a job left, right, and central.

Fellaini (if he stays) would have to drop deeper if Roberto plays his funky 3-4-3. Fellaini and Gibson certainly isn't the worst pairing, but I don't know if it is ideal.

Honestly, I obviously have no clue whether Martinez wants to force a new formation on everybody, but it might be fun to watch Coleman and Baines in a 3-4-3.

Sorry mate, but Gibson and Fellaini is well and truly my ideal paring

Just imagine it lads,

Coleman Jags Distin Baines

Gibson Fellaini

Barkley

Boss Winger Mirallas
Boss Slotter

It's the stuff dreams are made of...

this is the ultimate point. a team with the changes you have put in excites me, a team without Fellaini is potentially going to be more effective but we really have no idea. And most of what makes a great team is partnerships across the park and I see three or four there

I know what you mean mate, a team without Fellaini could well be even better than that one because of the funds it could leave us, but I just can't leave him out of an Everton team selection until he is pictured holding another scarf.

I just love the crazy [Poor language removed].

The great player Fellaini is he has been outstanding this season in midfield is jut that lack of pace, but a very very good midfielder not a forward as DM had him there I like him as an attacking midfielder not a back to goal player imo hope we can keep him this season at least!

With the current squad, no doubt. I just worry it is a little bit slow.

While he clearly has no acceleration, I dont think Felli is slow once he gets going, hes a ridiculous athlete as well, an covers more ground than anyone in our team. Gibson isnt quick, but has intelligence and pyshical strength to compensate, and if paired with Felli wont be exposed like he was when Osman was getting run over. I'd happily swerve 24mill that we will only spend half of to see Felli stay, if he is paired with Gibson and not wasted upfront

Fair points, both. I feel better already.

Totally agree with this mate.

the best centre mid pairings have all been about reading the game and each other not pace. look at how Reid/bracewell, Keane/Ince scholes/anyone used to play, instinctively knowing where to be to make the pitch look smaller to the opposition and bigger when they had the ball, Gibson and Fellaini have all that and already seem to know each others game inside out.

He has shown that he is excellent in the tackle and can muscle opponents off the ball in that role. He's been consistently dominant in that imo. His failure to track runners from the midfield is what I see as his weak point, and to be fair it's a pretty big one.

yeah. Will never forget that 6-1 mauling at home from Arsenal, Fabregas jogging away from Fellaini as ridiculous permed bonce nodded up and down behind him. The worst defensive midfield performance you'll ever see.

Incorrect.

I saw Alex Nyarko play for Everton away to Derby.

Taken off at half time.

Horrible day.

anyone involved with team should not be around now if you take that as a typical example of how any of them play

I got told a rumour, that Felli wants to sign an extension with Everton ( Higher wages, but also a higher release fee as well )

Apparently he is happy to stay with us for another year, wants to make sure he is playing all the time ( Which he knows he will do at us ) to cement his place in the Belgium team for the world cup next year.

I've taken what I have been told with a pinch of salt, maybe the likes of Sheedy have heard similar???????
Extra wages? He can **** right off

I certainly agree with how good Joe Parkinson could have been, but I rate Fellaini even higher because of his mobility, and would never have dreamt of selling a fit Joe Parkinson either, but it cant be coincidence they are the only two names we have come up with and it just seems like the most crucial area of the pitch to me, it took reid/bracewell and then Joe Parkinson to get us a trophy. we do need to strengthen and I am not going to deny this may eventually result in Fellaini going but any comments i have made are really just aimed at some posts, more on other sites admittedly, from blues who can't wait to collect the money with no obvious idea whether we will develop with it, or willing to believe everything that destabilises the team. I would much rather see an attempt to improve in these areas without the sale, even if it is from the point of view of having this asset that can be sold if the club needs to. As other people have said some of the answers could be already in the squad

I think a big part of it also mate is IF he is sold we need to have the replacement signed up. Be that Fer or Defour or another player of a really high level in the center, if we dont then id rather keep hold of him also

Then again im still living in a vain hope that Rooney comes home this year, so that in itself is me living in dreamland like
