Fellaini

Fellaini is excellent in his current role, end of.

Meh. He's had a few stinkers in the role too, but he's definitely grown into it.

I still think his best performances have come in the centre though. I just wish we could clone him and not have to pick a single position!

He was excellent in his previous role as well.

His replacement isn't. His replacements in his new role would probably be better than the replacement in his old role.

We have a squad and a weakness in a certain area, we should at least try but moist doesn't do that, he prefers to do soemthing and stick to it. Until he swaps his wingers round.

I don't have anything against Fellaini playing further forward. I just wish that we had more competent alternatives to Neville and Osman infront of the back four. Gibson and Vadis there from January could be a giant stride forward.

Fellaini gives us one of the most effective platforms in the league to build attacks from. We don't have any other player who could perform a similar role.

Gibson will be back sooner rather than later.

Too true.

I really do think the outlet for the aerial ball he gives us is too valuable to move him further back, personally but I can see the arguments both ways.

Can't see Gibson back before Xmas.. Still injured and takes a lot of time to get fit..

Osman, Pienaar, Anichebe, Vellios, Mirallas, Naismith,Gueye, Barkley and Cahill who can all play as a replacement for Fellaini in some way.

With varying degrees of success but still won't be any worse than Neville as a replacement for Gibson.

Its suposed to be a squad game where you use the players you have. Instead of playing a gash 35 year old as a defensive mid when you've got a defensive mid who was ****ing awesome their in the past playing up front.

If that way is for Sheff Utd and New York then yes they can. This has been Fellaini's most effective season and he has look unplayable at times, as a ACM.
I do agree about the defensive mid though, anyone but Phillip.

Well HE still signed them because HE thought they were decent players worth playing for DAVID MOYES F.C.

But HE obviously doesn't think of the numerous players that He selects in his squad that any of them can play behind the striker, or with another striker to a good enough standard in one of the best teams in the league, if only for a few games whilst Fellaini drops deeper and stops a 35 year old whose legs have gone playing in centre mid in the Premier League.
What's so funny?

It would be difficult to move Fellaini given how well he is playing but it would be interesting to see what Naismith could do as a second striker. Maybe we could start with Felli deeper to try and remedy our recent tendency of letting in early goals and then push him further forward once we've weathered the storm?

I'm well aware how well he's been playing there, and like Rufus said it would be nice if we could clone him because we don't have anyone else who plays like him.

But we do have others who have and can play in his position, and we have a player who was awesome playing defensive mid playing up front while we keep conceding **** goals and going behind in every game.

Seems a no brainer to me to move him back for at least one game to see how we do, use the options we have in our squad to hopefully fix a problem.

Jelavic isn't doing too great now but we havew the guy who apparently he loves playing with sitting on our bench. Yeah he's not been brillaint but thats outwide and its stille arly for him.

Like i said. Options.

haha, love the way goat said "i'm out" and comes back with a few more replies.

i know forums are about opinions but saying fellaini wasn't good today and we should sell for £18m is laughable. Even if i take off my everton glasses, i still rate him as one of the best midifelders there is atm and he would not look out of place in any team in the world. Sadly i can't see him with us for any more than 2 years but we better get a good wedge for him, just going to enjoy his performances for the time being because he has been excellent this season so far. The emotion in his celebrations today were a joy to behold as well
