Martinez will select his transfer targets, McCarthy appears to have been written off before he signs and before hes kicked a ball in anger for us.
Sure Fellaini is a quality player one of the best in the premiership, but even he was dismissed as a panic buy and written off before he had kicked a ball too.
By the very Same posters who kick up an almighty fuss every time we buy or sell a players.

To be honest all this Mcarthy hate is getting tedious now... how do we know how he will perform if we do sign him ? He will have much better players around him and he knows what system martinez likes to play........... I remember reading these same posts word for word 18 months ago or so .... only difference then was it was Gibson everyone was slating befor he had kicked a ball for us....... remind me how that signing turned out ???? ( yes I do realise the gulf in price , that doesn't negate peoples knee jerk reactions )

I have always said he'd get my full support and hope he'd prove me wrong if we did get him.

How is seeing him play and then forming an opinion a knee jerk reaction though? It's only as tedious as the people saying he'd be a good signing.

Actually, this should have been in this thread.

I have got past taking people on the internets opinions about players seriously.

It's only the managers that count, so if Martinez thinks he has potential and is worth 10m then I am not really arsed, it isn't my money.

They will get some right, some wrong, such is life.

The way some act on here, you would think they made a living in the game with their expertise.

Not so, I don't want us to buy McCarthy as a replacement for Fellaini, as I've made a judgement on their respective ability levels with my own eyes mate.

I think the lad is a tidy player, but far from outstanding & certainly not worth the kind of fees being talked about. As a squad player at a sensible fee I'd not object, but as a replacement for a player of the ability of Fellaini? Not a chance, we'd be vastly weaker in that scenario.

Ijjy, you know as well as I do that no matter which name is linked with us ...unless it's Johnny Foreigniola....the same people will come on here day in and day out ****ging them off.... it gets boring after a while.

The thing some people don't get though is that Fellaini is a very good player.... fantastic player.... we will not get somebody in who is as good as he is for a smaller fee...it's quite simple .... we are in the market to purchase potential... we can't afford the finished articles.... Mcarthy has a lot of potential... as does Tom Ince..and probably a few others around the 10 million mark.

It's GOT standard these days, everyone is a better manager than Martinez on here.

There's been plenty of examples of proven quality midfield players sold for LESS than the rumoured fee level for McCarthy this window, so that argument is nads imo.

Name them then please...

I'm not doubting what you say I just can't think off the top of my head.

Also, where any of them as good as Fellaini ?? as that was the point my post was making.

It's not though.

This lad is linked with us a lot and it's just people saying they don't want him or don't see him as value for money.

Admitedly this thread is not really needed, but it's nothing new is it?

There are plenty of Johnny Foreigniola's who would get the same treatment. Charles N'Zogbia for example did about 3 years ago.
