Haven't watched too long to know. VDM maybe for losing his dog, then his marbles then what little ability he had. Unfortately Bainsey might fall into this category.

Norman Whiteside probably deserves a mention, though his best stuff was probably behind him when he came to us!

On a related note i met Paul McGrath last week, what a gent and a player, but was an awfull man for the sauce!

Has he remained on the wagon Neiler or is he hitting it again? He was one hell of a player in his day, as hard as they come.

Paul Bracewell - before the injury that effectively changed then ended his career, he looked destined to be one of the best central midfielders we'd had. Only 24 at the time, too.

James mcfadden, after the game against leeds united i thought he was gonna be a superstar, never seen an everton player beat so many players in 1 game gary kelly just didnt know what too do. Shame it was a 1 off and we never seen him perform like that again.

Bracewell would have been a top, top drawer player. Simpy class in a glass!!

Smallman looked to me to be every bit as good as Rush, he turned the [Poor language removed] down to come to his beloved blues, love to know what he is doing now, any offers?:

Dave Smallman is my uncle! :)

He lives in a village called Minera, near Wrexham.

John Ebrell is usually mentioned in this type of discussion. My own choice would be Cadamarteri - he's at Bradford now isn't he? Jimmy Armfield even persuaded him to commit to playing for England in the future - what went wrong? I remember one goal against Liverpool that was a blinder...

Another possibility would be Jimmy Husband although he was hardly a failure - I thought that i was watching the new Alex Young when he was on the ball. He played a fantastic match at the City Ground in 1967 after we knocked Liverpool out. Scored twice but Storey-Moore scored three times. I cried all the way back Warrington...But cheered up when we went to Wembley the next season - my first trip to London. The train journey seemed to last all day...Happy, far off days

Another one that I will rbacket here, though some may disagree, is Kanchelskis. Of course, he did produce for a little while and those 2 goals at the RS were classics but he could ahve gone on to be a legend at Goodison. In the end, all to short and sweet

You are a lucky lad, he was an excellent little player one who I thought could have been another Roy Vernon, such a shame. I hope he is well now(y) Is he the reason for you being blue?

I hope Wrexham pull out of the drop zone as well, had a lot mates down that way and in Corwen(y)

ps Welcome to the site
