Well, it happened to Beattie and Johnson, now has the same happened with the Yak. Has Moyes taken the goals from him with our style of play ?

Beattie and Johnson's Finishing was very questionable towards the end of their Everton careers' you get the feeling though if someone slid Yak through one on one with the keeper he'd slot it away even in a barren spell.

AJ and Beattie never gave me that kind of confidence.

The same hasn't happened to the Yak. People seem to forget that the lad has scored 4 goals in 11 games in a team that's struggled. He's the Yak, feed him and he will score.

AJ and Beattie failed here because they weren't particularly good players in my opinion, they lacked the all round game to play in a team of this level.

The Yak is one a different level, he will always score goals. He always has done.

He seemed to score less after initial bedding in perids, though. I seem to remember at both Pompey and Boro, that his initial bursts were followed by less fruitful spells and then transfers. Maybe I'm wrong.

Nah, for Borough he was consistantly in the top 8 goalscorers of the season.

Yak looking like he was scoring for fun at the start of the season, he saw the net it was a goal.

He's just getting accustomed to playing along side Saha.

You cant underestimate the Yak. His goalscoring record alone is ridiculous and he'll bang in 2 tonight.

Moyes has asked him to do a hell of a lot of spadework helping that toothless midfield out by coming deep to get involved, and as for having him come back defending corners I'm speechless. Leave him in areas he can do his job.

He was playing for average teams, if the service isn't there he's going to go through patches where he doesn't score goals.

He's been playing in England for 5 full season now though. In those seasons he's scored 19, 17, 19, 16 and 21. Plus 4 for us this season and 5 in 14 for Portsmouth in the Championship.

He may well go through spells but he certainly delivers the goods, he gives his teams a good return every season.

I think this is harsh, he hasnt really been fed, i mean i cant recall many chances hes missed, the team is going thru a transtation(sp) at the moment. Things will work out fine.

I'm not blaming the Yak but he has never scored less than 16 goals in a premier league season. He's got 4 at the moment and 29 games left, so he needs to get a goal every 2.4 games to equal that. If he doesnt then Moyes has this hanging over his shoulder ??

perhaps Im being harsh but just asking the question.

Well we havent really played well and i have to agree with cal to some degree, its all about whats going on his head. But its not like hes missing chance after chance, im sure the goals will come.
