He has looked dodgy, which means to me that you shouldn't play him in a situation where if he does finally have that fatal mistake, that we all know he has inside him, it costs the team in the biggest way

If he botches a league match, it's not the end of the world

If he bollocks an FA Cup or Europa match, there's no way back

If Martinez wants to back him, then fair enough, but he deserves any critiscm that results if he has a repeat of his performances against Swansea and Arsenal

He really freaked me out in that Arsenal game,so god only knows what effect he had on our defence!

Yeah you can never rely on Robles in nets in a big game can you?

He hasn't won an F.A Cup final or anything.
 
I really don't want Joel playing tonight. I agree that perhaps if he got a good run of maybe half a dozen games or so in the side he'd settle down and be better but tonight we can't afford any F ups. Absolutely none. No punching the ball, no coming miles off you line and getting chipped, no doziness which lets them score a snidey goal. Play Howard, like or not he's by far the more experienced man and I'd put my trust in him.
 
If you judge Robles on a 'one game here or there' basis then yes, he hasn't done enough to win us over and be happy with him starting in goal against top opposition

Judging him on a run of games (have to be Wigan last 4months) then he has to come close, he wasn't phenomenal though, he was a good shot stopper with confidence in his ability which helped keep a clean sheet against a goal happy man city side

He won something two seasons ago

How silly of me to question his goal keeping skills

It's not like he's looked shaky everytime he's put on the Everton Goal Keeping jersey or anything

It's not like he's had bad games against Fulham, Swansea and Arsenal

How wrong of me to have doubts about him

You've shown me the light mate

He's the next Gordon Banks

He hasn't done anything wrong though.

He's looked dodgy at times, yes. But he hasn't made a single mistake in a competitive game that has lead to a goal.

Also, not sure if you've clicked on to this yet like, but there can be a middle ground between great and gash.
