What a fantastic result.

Very strange second half though, no way Howard should have to make that many saves. Those Eto'o substitute cameos are going to be fun to watch this season..

Lucky how

3 goals were well worked and taken well, The other was a touch and go pen
the defesive still looks shaky and Howard really stepped up , it could have been a different scoreline completely
I'm with Del here.

We played well. Wolfsburg were also very good, but we were better. There may be room for improvement but you can say that about most teams in most games.

Disappointed for Tim that we conceded. Was a great performance by him. He is really enjoying playing at the moment.

Thought Eto'o is in a class of his own and no matter how old he is, it's a great signing.

McGeady isn't good enough or consistent enough. Would love him to prove me wrong but I'm not sure he'll cut the mustard.

Rodriguez was just greedy getting on the score sheet twice. Naismith should be credited the goal, the ball was heading in to the net.

Great result. Strange game. Going to bed happy. Coyb.

he's a brilliant squad option though, which is what we'd expect for the fee paid. first choice is still mirallas and pienaar, but mcgeady is in no way far off pienaar. i don't think he'll ever be consistent enough to be a consistent starter, but he definitely does cut the mustard.

Eto'o looked really great. Lukaku is still rubbish but you can see he's going to be unplayable in about two years and will still be good for 15 goals a season until then anyway.

I like McGeady a lot. Happy for him to start every game for now. Very satisfying evening, nice one Everton.

McGeady is what he is. He'll faff about for 80 minutes looking utter turd then dump two defenders on their arse and whip in a belter from 25 yards to win the match. I reckon he's a confidence player which is why Martinez left him on so long.
