Now, I admit I haven't seen every Marty flick (I mean wtf was Kundun??) but he's made some of my favourites, if I were to choose, it would be.

I get the feeling when you talk about Scorsese flicks sometimes that half the population don't even know this film exists, it's the Jackie Brown of Scorsese movies.

GoodFellas would be a clear second for me but Casino just manages to pip it. To me, anything he merely flirted with on GoodFellas he does to its fullest potential here; The scenery, the acting, the costumes, the soundtrack, the sheer amount of brutal violence... (the baseball bat scene still knocks me sick).

Always in an around my top 10 this one, Stone's best performance by a country mile and possibly Pesci's best scene with DeNiro in the desert.

"Not your fcuking culture clubs...and yer TV shows...AND WHAT THE FCUK YOU DOIN' ON TV ANYHOW?!?"

Raging Bull, The Departed and Taxi Driver take up #3, #4 and #5 respectively.

Hit me!

Goodfellas for me, it was the film I'd been waiting for since Godfather 2. I like a bit of the old Gangster films me and whilst untouchables was enjoyable, Goodfella's was up there with the Godfathers. I did like Casino but it felt a bit samey. Do you think opinion on the two would have changed had Casino been the first film. Agree with you on the violence in Casino, is that the one where they put that guys head in a vice.

Worth mentioning, if you can, check out Boardwalk empire, loving it ..

Love Gangs of New York and the Departed, but have to agree with you Casino is hard to beat

I'll have to wait for Boardwalk Empire to come out on DVD but I will definitely catch it then.

My opinion on both GoodFellas and Casino couldn't be higher so it wouldn't matter which came first, really.

And yes it is the head in the vice scene, alongside the hammer to the hand scene (ouch).

Tough choice sir, but I always thought Casino didn't get the plaudits it deserved. Likewise The Departed.

I'm going with Goodfellas though, it's movie perfection.

Favourite Scorsese film? Toughie.

The easiest film for me to watch is The Aviator. Stylish, brilliant Production design, with great performances (LCAB loves Leo too), particularly Blanchett. But if your going by acting, you can't go past Day Lewis in Gangs of New York. Brutal, honest, completely engaging.

Goodfellas, the classic film, made at a time when Scorsese was on the way down, put him right back on top.

But, alas lids, unless my eyes deceive me, no one has mentioned his greatest work.

Raging Bull. Do yourselves a favour if you haven't seen it. This film IS Scorsese.
