This is all I will say in regards to Rafael
Looking at it purely from his management acheivements, he would be by no means the worst appointment. Here is a man who has reached two Champions League Finals and has also reached another European final while under tough conditions at Chelsea.
Based purely on what he's acheived, he would be a good manager
The problem is that our fan base at large would never accept him. Rafael himself would not be gracious in the role. He would come in and wouldn't cowtail to the Everton support. He'd come in and be like "I'm a good manager, let's get on with it". As the Chelsea situation ahs shown, Rafael is Rafael. He doesn't believe in diplomacy. And, to be fair to him, why should he? The man gets results, as this Chelsea run has shown. He's had them in two cup semi finals and has got them to the Europa League Final.
I remember when the topic of Rafael came up on here about a month ago. the general consensous was "We hate him and we have too much pride to accept him, even if he won things"
It's a bad idea all round. I, for one, would be willing to give him a chance. But I think I am very much in the minority. What would need to happen would be for Rafael to come in and say "Look, we had some problems in the past but I'm managing here now. Sorry about some of the crap I've said, let's just get on with it". Then our fans would need to say "Fair enough, we'll give you a chance, show us what you can do"
Instead it will be "Look I'm managing here now, let's get on with it", "Sod off you Fat Spannish Waiter", Rafael leaves soon after
