I would just like to ask, why even go the game if you are going to leave 80 minutes........ ? you have missed a very special memory of Goodison at its brilliant best in those last moments. it's exactly why we go the game, for the finish at the end, the team needed your support, so whilst you may have got the extra few minutes to get back to your car you have missed a very special moment in Goodison history.

Heard the goal as I was walking past Dixie and then legged it over to the Hot Wok window to see it go in on the telly

I don’t like the ridicule of leaving early, so when I get off with 15 minutes to go, I just stand up and shout to those within earshot:

“Excuse me everyone, I just need to go for a piss!”

And then I hot-foot it out, and get well on my way back to the car and out of the carpark before the final whistle, get home to a brew and toast, and maybe some biscuits or something.

Wednesday night late game, loads of kids to school and we were losing. It’s understandable. Nobody wants to try and squeeze out late night after a derby loss.

At my age there’s a lot more derbies in the past than in my future, I went on 84 minutes because I was dreading the worst and didn’t want my abiding memory to be those murdering bast***s running round like they’d won the World Cup. I gambled and lost tonight but I’ve won a lot more in the past.

I normally go down the bottom towards the end so I can get out.

The game dragged on, was going to miss the train anyway, so stayed. But also, it's the last ever derby at Goodison, how can you leave in case something like Tarkowski happens?
