Faddy Swoop Imminent

It would be sad to see faddy go in a way, a youngster who had all the potential in the world and is still young and very loyal, yet £5M would be good business for a bit part player, and we have plenty of strikers right now.

I agree with your assessment as well Sim.

I've always liked McFadden but felt he just didn't get a long run in the team to show what he could do, and hence the inconsistency in his game.

Still think we should go for 7M and let them come down to 6M.

he is a national hero and they cost loads them!!!!!

celtic and rangers would love to have him and would pay more than brum!!!

If anyone offer over 3.5m we should snap their hands off. Faddy will never be any more than a squad player for us. I'm afraid he just does not have the footballing brain that is required to be a top class player. How often do we see him make the wrong choice, or take half a second too long and hold the whole attack up? I would trust Moyes to spend the money on finding another Pienaar.

Well after yesterdays performance(city) it really is time to let this lad go. His heart dosent look in it any more. I think he needs a fresh challange, his head drops far to easy now.

Id take anything over 5m

Thing is he isn't going to make it. Its too late now for him to make a difference, and I would rather have the 5million in the bank and give one of the younger lads more of chance. We could keep him for another 2 seasons, but by that time Jose Baxter will be on the scene and we will have to lose some players up front. Faddy and Anichebe seem ideal candidates for me.

Anichebe has heart but lacks ability and fitness, Faddy has the ability, just lacks the heart for Everton.

This is from th OS. Never heard so many noises coming out of the OS about selling a player. Are they puting him on a plate or what?

Rangers boss Walter Smith is the latest manager to express an interest in James McFadden.

The Blues striker is also being courted by Birmingham City, who made a £2.5 million bid for Faddy last week, which was firmly rejected by the Club.

Although Smith admits luring McFadden north of the border during the transfer window could prove to be a difficult task.

"McFadden is a player we would be interested in," said Smith.

"No club wants to sell its best players in the January window and we won't be signing anyone unless it is someone who can improve the team."

Meanwhile Birmingham boss Alex McLeish remains optimistic of landing the Scottish international.

He said: “I think James is a proven Premiership player and he is the type of character I look for in a player. He also has great technical ability and I just hope we can do a deal.

“I am optimistic, but nothing has happened over the weekend.

“We will see what happens in the coming days.”

Everton Chief Executive Keith Wyness has revealed the Blues are monitoring the situation closely but remain determined to keep hold of McFadden.

"We have heard from several clubs regarding James McFadden's availability," said Wyness.

We are monitoring the situation but our position remains the same and that is that James remains a valuable member of our first team squad.”

We are monitoring the situation instead of he's not for sale.

Bye,Bye Fads!!!

I still think we should wait for July before selling, so many clubs want him, maximise profit (y)

No,let him go now. I was at the city game, row 2 in the paddock. You could see in his face his heart is not in it any more. He was pretty poor again, an every time the fans got on his back his head went down even more.

It really is time to sell jimmy Mc. I do like the lad but its just not working out for either him or us.

AS iv said before we should get a bidding war startded an the highest bid over 5M, snap there hand off.

He is an enigma and the last 2 games sum him up perfect.
Against chelsea he played really well but against city he was crap and he will never change one good game one awful game.
If we got offered over 5 million sell him if we don,t keep him and look again in the summer.

As I said, £3.5m+ and we should snap their hands off. Faddy is not worth the rediculous £5m+ that some here are saying if we are honest and Saturday was a perfect example of why. Also, his heart is clearly not in it anymore - you can see that from his body language every time he steps onto the pitch.

Sell now - we'll get more for him in January than we will in the summer, plus we'll save ourselves an extra half mil in wages.
