I'm pretty sure we would have done millwall or blackburn in the semis, it feels like such a wasted opportunity. I'm gutted about how this weekend has gone.

Thing is if we had beaten wigan and drew say city or utd/chelsea in the semi you would expect the other prem team to beat blackburn/milwall and get to the final-so even if we had lost the semi at worst it would have been two teams in the final who will have already qualified for europe and dropped the europa place into the prem.

Could you imagine us playing Millwall at Wembley, the lack of composure would be staggering. With that level of expectation we would probably lose 3-0 to them as well

Past it now. Millwall leading and fair play to them, and to an extent us. The last time Millwall made the Millenium was for the final against Man Utd. They lost it obviously and a certain Timmy Cahill got his first taste of the PL bigtime. Oddly it was us versus Wigan for his signature (IIRC) and we won through and he signed for us and became an aerial legend for us scoring bucket loads of goals from midfield not least when we clinched an unlikely 4th spot in the league having coughed up 2.2million spondulacks on the aforementioned Cahill and a measley 450k on Marcus 'the channels' Bent.

Payback? De ja vu? What a tangled web we weave when we first practice to deceive.
