FA Cup or 5th?

Alright then...rip in to him, blues.

Nah, it is different here though with league placing determining draft orders etc...I have this convo with fellow Yanks when they decide nobody else is watching and are safe from bro-harm if they're caught not talking NFL.

It was a perception question not a "which matters more" question.

Both. I want us to challenge in the league across thirty-eight games and gain European football as that'll attract top players.

However, as a fan a cup win is a cup win. When you look back is the 4th place finish under Moyes in the same bracket as '95? Or in Vienna?

Or the '84 cup final? No! I'm not happy with our league position but if we were to win the FA Cup I'm confident I'd be able to ignore that fact.

4th gives us a season in the CL, well, maybe
5th gives us Europa
Fa Cup gives us Europa, 2 boss days at Wembley and something to hold

Right. Again not a which matters more question. That's obvious. More around confidence in going forward.

I'd rather aim for the top four and finish 5th, than not aim for the top four and win the FA Cup. Because a winning team should be aiming to finish as high up in the league as possible, with the cups considered a bonus.

If you actually judge success based on domestic cup competitions, your mindset is very much small time.
