I think a lot of you are missing the point, not that I'm arguing against a cup win. Of course a trophy matters more. The question was how would it affect your perception of the season as a whole and where we are as a club. Wigan won a cup. So did Portsmouth. A lot of good that did them despite how it felt at the time.
I'm just admitting that I'd feel better about our prospects going forward if we'd shown more in the league, which is 9 months, rather than a good cup run.

Understandably, you're a bit different on this @johnnydawg68 because you're American...our major sports don't have these types of competitions so league place is the end game. Chill out, blues...it ain't his fault.

It used to be all about a CL spot and the pots of money that go with it.
We now have the money anyway so winning is all that matters.
