Not to me. I liked the European Cup, but now it's a runners up league with a poncy marketing name and razzmataz glued onto it. It's created a stagnant strata of teams and ruined competition. I have absolutely zero interest in it, and even if we were to qualify, i'd still pay very little interest.

League is more important - but even there I'm losing interest quickly. Top flight football has become a sham sport.

Top flight football has been ruined by the TV money, hence why the Champions League is the be all and end all.

Don`t get me wrong, I love the FA cup, especially the upsets which unfortunately usually involves us somewhere along the way.

Take the Newport v Man City game. Regardless of the result, Newports cup run will keep them going for a long time afterwards.

It hasn't IMO.
The Third Round, be it at Goodison or away from, is still magical to me. In fact, it's probably my most anticipated match day of the year and I bet a lot feel the same.

One of the major issue for the fans is that it's lost its 'shine' for the top teams, who fielding weakened teams, still have a stranglehold on winning the thing.

That with external parties ruling the fixture list, and it's not just the TV companies. How many games kicked off at 3pm on Saturday in the third round?

Compare that with 12.30pm kick off times on the Saturday and Sunday, even though most weren't on TV, so you surmise that it was for Eastern betting markets.

The fans who actually regularly go to the game, whether that be a PL team or a non-league team, come bottom of the list when we talk about priorities!

You can add to that the trips to the ol' stalwart grounds in the semis which meant the trip to Wembley was extra special, but in reality that's only a small part of it.

Hasn't lost its magic but depends who you support. To Evertonians the two biggest competitions are the FA Cup and League Cup, the only ones we can win, even though we can't get anywhere near either of them

I still love "The Cup"...which only means the F.A. Cup of course. I think from the vote list above, all of the reasons have played their part. However I just think its diluted ….not ruined. Theres still the magic of a giant killing performance from a minnow and the fans etc. Id love us to win it again, especially for our younger supporters who've been starved of success

It loses it's magic when Everton get knocked out. Up until then it's great.

Is the only answer.

Even in the old days, the moment EFC went out the competition I totally lost interest in the Cup until Final day.

And even then that was only for the rarity of sering wall to wall football on TV all day, culminating in the one live match you could watch from your own living room all season, that made it “magic”.

Now you have wall to wall football stuff somewhere on TV every day and you can watch at least six or seven live English games every weekend....and another dozen foreign ones.

Sky don’t like it because they can’t make money out of Blythe Spartans vs QPR or a game like that, despite the fact it makes a better game than the majority of Champions (let’s not take any risks in case we get knocked out) League games.
