Meh, both gash teams (sorry SAFC). Hopefully Bolton beat Sunderland though.

Having said that, Sland are very much due a win against us. FFS
100% my worry. I was actually convinced after the league game the next time we play them they'll beat us. I thought that would come in the form of the league game... This is much worse

.....I was just thinking that we beat S'land on the way to winning the Cup in '66 (yes I am that old). Could be an omen but it's a tough draw.

We also beat Sland on the way to us absolutely bottling it against Liverpool last year.

Would have preferred a home tie as I imagine it will be tricky getting tickets for the away match. That being said, should Everton make it past Cheltenham, both of those games are winnable. As others have said, you're going to have to beat the top teams to win the thing in the end anyway. Anything can happen in 6 rounds of cup football
We should get 6,200 for Sunderland just like last season, they won't sell out and for Bolton we'll have the whole end just like in the league in 2011 so whoever we play we'll get a big allocation.*

*If we beat Cheltenham, of course.

....just dipped into a S'land forum and the reaction to the draw is amazing. Doom and gloom, anybody would think we were Barcelona. General theme is 'oh no not Everton again, we'll get stuffed'. It is interesting, though, how our team is often talked down on these pages yet we are seriously rated by others. Lots of 'ifs' and 'buts', but a premier league club away is tough if we get through.

*IF WE BEAT CHELTENHAM
Sunderland fans seem to be suggesting that despite away fans being up in the Gods for league games, we will retain the same allocation took in last year's QF. Which was around 6,200. However it could be the case that they just extend the allocation further round into the side in the upper tier, although under the 15% rule it should be again around 6,000.
We sold Leeds out on a Tuesday night so if this is a Saturday afternoon I'm sure that will be a reasonable target, especially after how good last year proved to be.
Bolton would be the general 5,000 allocated in league matches, as Sunderland took there yesterday - guessing it would be a lot harder to get a ticket for this one (being closer, not a general prem away anymore and most likely cheaper).
Game wise I'd be much more confident against Bolton being championship opposition with a poor home backing as well as the fact Sunderland's slump against us has to end one day - but another trip to the SOL is my preferred choice seeing as tickets will be more easily obtained and 6,200 blues standing behind that goal last year was unbeatable!

getting a taxi in newcastle last year before the draw was made for quarters. Taxi driver was saying he'd want anyone but everton, said we are their bogey team and always seem to do us over. Weird I'd never seen them as being a team we usually stuff.
