This is a very good point. The ruling wasn’t applied fairly across the field, it only benefitted one driver.

This will be one of the lines Mercedes will go down - has the rules been applied fairly and consistently for all participants or for other reasons?

I’ve been watching F1 for over 20 years and whilst this is was most exciting season in a long time, it’s the worst season by some distance for the standard of officiating. I didn’t want to believe in the idea of some sort of conspiracy to let Max win, but today has hardly quashed those fears. You never really used to notice race control, but they’ve made themselves look like fools the last few races. Masi needs to go and if he doesn’t it shows where the FIA’s priorities lie.

I’ve lost a lot of enthusiasm for 2022 now. This finale has left a bitter taste.

I think the courts will have to rule in Mercedes favour... Rubbish outcome either way though
