That's a weird one. Bottas definitely makes a movement to the right, but he's surely defending the racing line when he does.

He had an embarrassing lack of pace on that straight though.

From all I've seen he's left (a little) space. Probably Russell has gone on to a damp part when moving further to the outside and then he had no grip. So perhaps I shouldn't put all the blame on Russell as he was already a good part alongside. However if you are Bottas I doubt you would think in that split second if I move over he could well crash once well off the dry line.

Bottas fault for me that. Slight move to the right when Russell is alongside. His reaction is going to be moving to the right as well, which was on the grass.

That's how I read that too. He's made a jerky move to defend the racing line far too late, corrected left but then damage is done by that point as Russell has reacted.

A combination of Bottas having abysmal pace and... well, let's face it, him being an abysmal driver too.

Bad little Tory that Russell, not a fan of VB but I’m not gonna blame him for Russell bottling it and ending up on the grass.

No standing start is boring but fair, sucks to be in first and have to restart from standing position.

Be interested to see if Hamilton gets stuck in traffic similar to Bottas

Both Bottas and Russell blaming each other fully for the accident. Russell claiming “Bottas would not have done that to another driver.”

That could only ever happen to Lewis, couldn't it? Crashes off, sits in his car for about a minute as if he's out, then reverses back onto the track and is a full lap behind, only for the perfect storm to see him have to pit directly after a safety car and end up in prime position to attack slower cars while having the freshest tires on the track.

The only genuine surprise about it, to me, was the fact he didn't end up winning.

That was 0% about skill him ending in second today, just pure and utter luck with circumstances and the best car.

Grosjean about to start his first Indycar race. Probably the most stacked Indycar field in decades

He was very lucky with the perfect storm you mentioned but saying the result was 0% skill is a bit over the top given how much his team mate struggled for pace. H
