I wonder if Max wasn't willing to risk lunging for it in case Bottas pushes him off, intentionally or not, alongside having a performance difference.
RedBull surely weren't expecting Lewis to fly through so many positions with such ease.
We all slagged Mercedes off all weekend but they played a blinder with the softs for Valterri. Great day for Mercedes.

I agree. Still, the safest place to start the race would have been in first especially in the first corner at São Paulo.
All that happened was no car around 5th to 9th bothered stopping Hamilton as he was going to be taking a five place penalty regardless. Tomorrow Hamilton will be actively resisted by the likes of Norris and that Merc is mediocre in traffic.
Verstappen simply took no risks. Why should he - even if Bottas is ahead of him, it's only Bottas, he'll take him easily on the Sunday.
Verstappen wins it at a canter and Hamilton finishes around 3rd or 4th IMO. He might nick second but even if he does his title challenge is on life support - he simply had to win here.

Really looking forward to the race later today.
The Mercedes still looks the fastest car out there and can pass most of the grid (even Mercedes powered) with relative ease.
Red Bull seem to be struggling (unusually) with rear tyre wear this weekend.
Hopefully all the major players stay on the track and we have no more controversy.

Two fold, I'd like a Verstappen DNF and a strong Hamilton finish.
- I like Hamilton and would obviously prefer that he won the title,
- An advantage to Hamiltonm with Red Bull likely to have the strongest car in the coming races, would make for a more exciting run in.
