In the end, Hamilton spent 10 laps behind Max but couldn't even get within DRS range.. Mercedes called the 2nd pit stop WAY too early yet again

That was a crucial result in such a tightly fought championship.

With only 5 races left, Lewis now really needs to win 4 of them. That is a VERY tall order.

If Hamilton wins 3 and Max 2, then Lewis only effects a 7 points change, ie not enough.

Very impressive drive from Max Verstappen. Maybe his best career win to date. He's beaten Hamilton today in a straight fight (aided by his team's good strategy calls, but F1 is a team sport). I have no doubt that if he does go on to take the WDC he will be a deserving champion.

Given Mexico is probably a Red Bull banker, think Hamilton is needing a RB failure and I don't think that is on the cards

Top comments on BBC site are very weird, people saying the debate about whether Verstappen is ready to win a championship can now be closed. It was closed about 36 months ago, it's been obvious to anyone with two eyes that he's been world championship material for a long time... he just had to wait to get a car to do it.

Been thinking this after a few of Hamilton's recent interviews. He seems fairly calm in admitting RB are faster.
Previously, there would be a bit of an edge to his responses. Now whether its age mellowing him or knowledge of next years car, i dunno

The rear did look unstable for him though, whether that is a one lap thing and actually better for the race who knows.
