Everton's Next No.1

Think Joel's done nothing wrong and deserves the chance to be number 1. He's young and been improving at a steady rate.

If he keeps improving then I'm happy with him. If we give him a season and he doesn't really kick on or starts to become a weakness then maybe consider an upgrade, but there aren't that many keepers out there so good they're worth spending millions on. As long as we have a solid keeper I'm happy strengthening other positions (manager included!) for now.

Begovic would definitely improve us in the goalkeeping stakes and I think he could be bought for the right price.

Butland would be the one i'd want most, however he's just signed a new deal at Stoke. Begovic wouldn't be a bad buy either. Joel is a 2nd keeper for me, hasn't done bad but don't think he's quite good enough to be number 1.

Think Joel deserves a chance and can't see the club spending big money at GK when there are other holes to fill, unless the club suddenly has tons of cash (in which case I will curl up and cry into my Lukaku shirt). More importantly, save a few Howard blunders early in the season, I haven't seen many times the goalkeeping has cost us points. It's all Martinez's system for me. Get it sorted out and a half-decent keeper will get you points. Until Everton have enough squad talent to challenge for the title, I don't see a top keeper making much difference.

(I'd take Lloris though)
