I think signing someone like Marshall or Heaton, or keeping Joel as number 1, would suggest we are content to be mid table. I think we need a keeper who's better than howard was at his best to show that we're serious about getting better. I'm not a scout though, so I won't pretend I know who the answer is.

Still think it's worth at least trying for ter Stegen. He can't be happy only playing in the cups, and I think he's only making £2 million or so a year. It'll be a tough sell if we're not in Europe, obviously, but Man United and the RS are supposed to be looking at him, too, and neither of them are likely to be in the Champions League next season. Sirigu from PSG might be a good shout, too -- he's lost his place to Kevin Trapp but he's still only 29 and has been excellent in the past.

So pretty much anyone from League 1 then.

The keepers who are experienced in the PL who we could realistically get aren't good enough for the level we want to be and won't be much of an improvement over Robles. We're probably best getting one from Europe somewhere.

Zieler has a relegation clause and can leave his team for only 3 million €. That would be a steal for every team. There are rumors that Horn can leave Köln for 9 million € and Leno Leverkusen for 18 million.

I think Zieler is really underrated and wouldn't he count as a home grown player? Baumann would be another nice replacement if Hoffenheim gets relegated... Which isn't that likely anymore.
