Everton's Next No.1

Think Joel's done nothing wrong and deserves the chance to be number 1. He's young and been improving at a steady rate.

If he keeps improving then I'm happy with him. If we give him a season and he doesn't really kick on or starts to become a weakness then maybe consider an upgrade, but there aren't that many keepers out there so good they're worth spending millions on. As long as we have a solid keeper I'm happy strengthening other positions (manager included!) for now.

We will have a better idea on Joel in 9 games time.

Look to Germany!
Horn, Leno, Karius and Zieler all getting rave reviews from their media.
Bit of a gamble I guess as they are untried in the Premier League but would be cheaper and younger than the likes of Begovic, Marshall.

I've seen Leno play a few matches. There are times when he looks excellent and times he looks terrible. Its really hard to tell because Bayer's D often collapses in a wave of Everderp. Spending big money on him is probably no different than taking an unproven flyer (ie could work out well but you don't know what you are going to get).

Heard this guy commands the box well. Will even occasionally literally suck the opponent dry.
