Interesting that RK's comments after the game were all about the lads lacking confidence in the first half. It's almost as though someone had coached it out of them in some past life ;)

People talk about tactics, formations, style of play etc, but if the side doesn't have the sort of confidence needed to begin with, well no amount of planning is going to overcome that, and we will just scramble on.

Now, if we could put a good run together, build said confidence, strengthen where needed, then all those things @MoutsGoat listed are achievable.

I'll take 3pts over "style" all day long.

Me too, but only for so long...no more than 38 in a season.
The hard part is actually doing the 3pts. bit on a regular basis.
But the good news is if you do it for long enough, like Leicester, it starts to grow and feed upon it's self and soon we'd find that the style, aka decent 'joined up footy' is there and so are the 3Pts.

The first half yesterday was poor and nervy bit we played some lovely stuff in the second half.

The move which ended with Lukaku's volley that was saved, had it ended in a goal, would have been a contender for move and goal of the season.

We also should have had a penalty, so 4-0 would not have flattered us for what was only a 45 minute performance.

Koeman needs to get us playing consistently well for 90 minutes - this is not a new problem for Everton teams over the past 39 years!

We played rubbish for the first 20-25. Then played reasonably well and won the match comfortably, is this not a pointer that our
current manager knows what he is doing and knows how to tweak things mid game in order to gain the right result ?

I know it is still very early for Koeman, but I am struggling to see what style he is trying to impose. This is not a criticism as I am sure he is building towards something by fixing the errors of the past, but based on what I have seen so far I can't predict what our standard playing style is going to be.

They looked a lot more motivated for the second half, so you can only put that down to the HT team talk. It looks as though RK is trying to coach out a lot of old negative mentalities carried over from last season (especially for home games).
Confidence is the foundation to any side - The style I would like to see us play is simply one of confidence. The first goal yesterday came from sheer determination to win the ball. The second was all about confidence. A sound defence and more clean sheets should help all of our collectively damaged confidences.

Manager is paid to gets 3 points and that's what I want.

Martinez valued his own football ethos over everything else and that is negligible as a manager, especially when you're paid 3 million a year.

Said it once and I'll say again Blues just aren't happy unless they've got something to moan about.
