It's utter trash.
Look at that lot yesterday. They have halfway decent players plus a talent like Coutinho who can pull their strings. They went on the 'kin rampage in that game yesterday at a difficult away ground.
If they can go there and create bucket loads of chances and come away with three points then there's no excuse for us (and certainly not at home) to be playing overly cautious football.
Koeman needs to sort the back four out and drill them rather than have 8 behind the ball - which makes us more secure but less of a threat.
Apart from that simplistic proto wind up material above you're half right...one of the parts of the 'you're also half wrong' is that, as always, it's often forgotten that the game is won and lost in the MF. The MF support the forward attacking AND the defensive endeavours of the back 4...but we don't actually have a MF
Oh we have Barry, who once was a proper MF player...and can still do a decent imitation as long as he doesn't have to do too much running too many times a week and Gana/Gueye or what ever it is we call him, who...well he does what he does, which should be 'the Sammy Lee then give it to Souness and let him get on with it' thing.
Except we don't have a Souness. Or a Ball, Kendall, Harvey - a Steven, Reid, Bracewell, Sheedy... we don't even have Barry Horne and Joe Parkinson or Gravsen Areteta.
What we have is 'Buck-she' wingers. Mirallas, Del, Lennon, Bolasie being asked to be MF's and thus failing at both more often than not.
Least said about Cleverly, Gibson and Besic...if fit any one could be 'carried' in a decent team and do a decent job...until Scholes or a proper MF comes back.
Then we have Barkley...lets just say he could be but isn't...If there's anybody I've missed out well they must be eminently forgettable
Short version; Until Koeman gets some balance in the team, balance by way of proper MF's we're not going to attack like it's 69-70
any way I'm off to watch the game and all the players I've slagged will have blinders
