100% this

We now live in Bath and so most people support teams that aren't local and the amount of my mates whose kids don't support the same team as them is shocking. It would never happen in my house, how could it? They have been going since they were about 3, how on earth could they support someone else LET ALONE them lot.

My brother, nephew, kids grandad and others have all had a go at convincing the kids that Man Utd, Chelsea or Tottenhham were better options, but I did my job and they're all Everton fans. Only one of them is really interested in football and has recently started playing for his first team aged 5, I hate the fact that their kit is red and I hope he grows to have the same irrational hatred of that colour as I do.

My Dad was a West Ham fan.

We have Everton in the family from my Mums side although my Grandad was a red but all her cousins and my Auntie are Blues.

I honestly believe if we had stayed in Essex (moved up North when I was 7) I would have been a West Ham fan, mainly because my Dad would have had a chance to take me to Upton Park before the Everton side got their hooks in (was also a big Cottee fan so his move swayed my decision), but I was chosen and have never looked back.

Not irrational at all, perfect common sense.

My life could have gone horribly wrong, My 'arl fella (Who I love to bits) is from Leeds and supports his scummy home city team, my maternal Grandad saw the writing on the wall and instilled in me a Goodison education from as far back as I remember, my two lads despite being born and bred in Scotland are massive blues and I am so proud of that.

Initially thought the thread was clickbait but it's actually quite interesting.
