Everton Youth Teams Thread

He's an interesting one, has the physical attributes and was praised by Stubbs as the best one on one defender. I remember he was moved in to midfield for the under 21s to improve his ability on the ball.

I think he did okay in the first team, same as Galloway.

Its interesting that Joe Williams is only a short loan to January, it gives the opportunity to review and reassess , reload if necessaries they did with Kenny two seasons ago. I wonder why the thinking is though and why the difference, we're unity to need Joe back in January but Galloway's is a full season and if anyone he's the most likely to be needed back. I think Joe will do well, he was on the cusp of a 1st team appearance last season and he really seemed to have kicked on after his injury bringing in a degree of skillet to his combative style.

Regarding Galloway, I think after a season of playing almost no first team football - we just want him to have a successful season playing most games.

..apparently played CB in the midweek game and lots suggesting he was MoM. Saw one saying he looks a man mountain and another saying it was good to have a CB who played it out from the back rather than hoof it.

happy days, it'll ruin his career if he keeps getting played at rb.
obviously its hard for a young lad to dictate to a manager where he would like to play but hope there was something in the loan agreement about him mainly playing centre back

..he's an amazing athlete. I've seen him have some real howlers at CB for the U23s but the penny might just drop and he could improve his defending given experience.

interesting that Sunderland started Galloway as left Back in their friendlies in Scotland , so perhaps unlikely that we'll see a Galloway / Browning CB partnership there, but could happen. I just hope both get a full season of playing in.

Think this is his first loan if I'm not mistaken. Think he'll do well in the championship. I like Barnsley and it's not because they sell us their best young players. The club and, just as importantly, it's fan base are open to playing youth, so it's an ideal place to send our youngsters. They can play open age football at a good level without the extra pressure that comes with going to a club like Sunderland or Leeds, where expectancy levels are much higher.

Oh dear. What have I said.

I agree. I think they are the perfect loan club, and quite frankly we owe them some good players :)

It would be a mystery to me if Browning didn't make it at Everton, even as a squad player. He's another one that but for injuries might be in our first team this year with our need for depth at CB. He's a very good defender, and didn't shrivel up when he was thrown in at Anfield.

mad how walsh isn't getting any sort of pre season time given his ability or getting loaned out to someone in the championship coz im sure they'll be a good fews teams interested
