Nah, he's right. He doesn't have the pace to beat a defender.

He wasn't out of puff when he came on against United and had a few counter attacks, he just doesn't have the pace

He is very quick victor moses couldn't out pace him

Paul Simpson has opted for a pacy point-man throughout the tournament, alternating between Calvert-Lewin and Armstrong most often.

The Everton forward — seen playing on the wing in the Premier League last season — has looked a threat because of his sheer pace, getting on the scoresheet against Argentina and providing an assist for Lookman’s second against Costa Rica.

Although Armstrong is perhaps not *as* fast, he is nevertheless still quick and it is his intelligent movement that separates him from the rest of the England strikers.

After his goal against Argentina in the opening game, the floodgates were expected to open but he has since missed guilt-edge opportunities and it was Calvert-Lewin's pure speed that was preferred against Italy.

Armstrong can cause any defender in the tournament problems on his day but may find any contribution he makes to the final will have to be from the bench.

That Solanke was poor today. He's played some decent ones in the tournament but I don't really understand the hype. If he's an attacking mid I'd rather have Lookman and a striker I'd take DCL

...I thought Venezuela were excellent.

Yeah, some really talented players, possibly better man to man than we were.

Showing replays of the pen again, player clearly gets the ball. Shouldn't be a pen imo, but as they said, great save from the keeper to not only get a hand on it, but firm enough to push it wide.

Solanke is a better dribbler for sure...

But DCL is better all round. He will make a good striker for us will DCL

Hopefully. I remember Kane looking pretty average before it suddenly clicked. Hopefully he gets a good championship loan next season as opposed to just playing the occasional game out of position wide left.
